Called Eddie on a Friday to ask about offering an estimate on a basement remodel. He was very polite on the phone and said he could do the following Wednesday, but he would need me to text him a confirmation because he was driving. I texted him our agreed date and time for the review/estimate and he confirmed that there would be no charge associated with givng an estimate. I had to leave work early to meet him at 3:30, around 4:15 I texted to see if he was coming by/on his way. After 4:30 he replied that he was stuck on another job and wanted me to reschedule. I understand that circumstances arise that will cause delay; however, I feel it is important for clear communication to set expectations for both parties.

Eddie is the best contractor I have ever worked with in Boston. He was straightforward, honest, easy to reach, friendly, and came with a laundry list of good references. I asked him to do a complete bathroom remodeling for me. He gave me a straightforward estimate which included a detailed list of the work to be done. Once the work started, as expected in a Cambridge 3-family house, there were many unexpected costs that arose because of old plumbing and electrical that did not pass today's code. The foundation of the bathroom also needed to be rebuilt. Eddie brought his experienced and efficient crew and took care of it all. He not only sent his expert crew, however, he personally came to check on the progress and quality of the work much more often than I expected. When I got the final bill, it was just as he had quoted me. I have worked with many contractors in Boston before Eddie, but I will never work with anyone else besides Eddie ever again.
