repairing the cracks with these special disks that I?d never seen before, then scraped, painted, and repainted, until the room looked as good as new. I wish I had taken ?before? and ?after? photos; no one would believe what he had started with.
Recently we had him back to tackle a list of ?handyman jobs? for us. He hung a heavy picture, reattached an interior door that had fallen off, and fixed cupboard doors that refused to stay closed. To give an example of the kind of care he takes: he arrived with three different colors of door hinges to see which I preferred. Again, his work was meticulous.
My 1920 house is like other old houses; it continually needs maintenance. For years I?ve had the stress of having to find good trustworthy workers. Having met Jesse, I feel an enormous sense of relief. Of course, he can?t do everything; but he can do a lot of things (see his list on this page). To top it all off, his rates are extremely reasonable: currently, between $35-$50/hour, depending on the kind of job. The cost above is the amount we paid for all of the work he did for us, both last year and this year, and includes the costs of materials.
Finally, let me just note that you couldn't meet a nicer guy.
Next up is our study (for which he?s already recommended paint colors) and bathroom (in which he?s replacing the vanity and medicine cabinet, painting, and so on).
