Tom and Matt showed up early got right to work and did an excellent job. They demonstrated how to remove the fence and reinstall it and how to adjust the gate if needed. I highly recommend them Had a great experience and my pool fence looks awesome.

Tom was excellent. At the time he came to do the work, my twins were not walking yet, but I decided to wait to write this review until they'd learned to climb and run around so that I could really see the childproofing in action. Because I have twins, childproofing was an absolute necessity, since much of the time, the kids are going in opposite directions, so knowing potentially dangerous areas of the house were taken care of in case my back was turned was imperative. Tom made the appointment with me quickly and was really helpful in, basically, giving me a tour of my own house from a toddler's perspective, suggesting ways to childproof as he did so (including mentioning things like moving climbable furniture away from windows, etc). When he was done showing me around and discussing different options for problem areas (like how to put a baby gate in the hall near my cellar door instead of in the cellar doorway, which would make my bringing laundry up and down the stairs easier and less dangerous if the kids were running around in the room next to the cellar door) he then had me choose what I wanted him to do--no pressure at all to do anything I didn't want to do. He then installed baby gates for my attic stairs, near my cellar, in my living room at on my staircase, locks for kitchen cabinets, window guards, toilet guards, and harnessing furniture to walls, as well as putting slide outlet covers on outlets in the kids' room, and power strip covers. After that, he gave me a list of other products I might find helpful as well as reviewing ideas for areas in the house where I wasn't yet sure what I wanted. His work was neat and tidy, the baby gates are fantastic quality, there was no mess at all when he left, all of the furniture that's either now bolted to the wall or strapped to it was done neatly, with him showing me how to undo the straps if I needed to. He was super nice and informative and was cheerful with my many questions about potential hazards in the house. Flash forward a year and a half, my twins are now a little older than two, climbing stairs and furniture, sticking their fingers on outlet covers, trying to open every drawer and cabinet they can reach, poking at outlet strip covers, and racing down the hall toward baby gates while the other twin is running into the bathroom trying to lift the lid of the toilet. Now I can absolutely say, thank god for Tom's childproofing! The headache he saved me from doing it myself was invaluable and the potential accidents and mishaps that have been averted because of the childproofing he installed is huge, and the advice he gave me was so helpful. Many parents say, "Oh, I never got around to childproofing" and with one generally well behaved toddler and a lot of supervision, it's totally possible to not do it and have your kid be fine. However, with twins, that kind of supervision just isn't possible because there will always be times when the kids are in two different places--one trying to pull open a kitchen drawer while the other one is trying to climb up the bookshelf (yes, one of my twins did try to do this and I can't tell you what a relief it was to know it was bolted to the wall). So, for me, getting the house childproofed had made my supervising my twins easier (by giving me at least a few more seconds when one runs down a hall they shouldn't and the other is running the other way). And having him do the work for me, in less than a day, saved me so much time and energy, which are two things parents of multiples really don't have to spare. If you're on the fence about hiring a childproofer, you'll probably spend more time hemming and hawing about whether it's worth it, than the time it would take Tom to come into your house and finish the job. There is nothing like the relief of knowing, on the day when your child decides to try to climb up a bookshelf, that you already have it covered, and when your kids start to climb stairs before you're ready for them to, to know that the baby gate is not only up and installed, but is really secure. I can't recommend his services enough, and he was so helpful in ways I appreciated when my kids were no walking yet (when he installed everything) and in ways I appreciate now that they are testing every bit of childproofing he installed. Very happy with the work!

Tom, was very nice, fast and very knowledgeable about different gates and which gates was right for which location. The top gate had a railing in the way, and I was worried about how this would look. I am so happy we called him as the gates look great and he installed them in about an hour.

Tom was excellent.  Quickly and effectively installed two high-end gates for my staircase.  Also was able to help me use an existing pressure gate after explaining I just needed two additional pieces of hardware which he provided.  Instead of just installing a gate - he saved me $100 by helping me use my own.  Unexpected and very helpful!  He was in and out in about 2 hours - worked very clean and efficiently.

Tom was excellent.  He was prompt (8 am on a Saturday), very polite and offered good suggestions in a way that was not overbearing.  He also vacuumed up after himself, which was greatly appreciated and moved rapidly to complete the job.  I have already recommended Tom to three of my co-workers and would advise anyone looking to babyproof to hire Tom.  Just a very positive experience overall!

Tom did a great job helping us finish our baby proofing.  We had started on our own, but there was just too much to do.  We e-mailed Tom and he responded very quickly.  He was very professional and did quality work (plus he was fast!).  I would highly recommend him.  Tom was able to accomplish in 2 hours what would have taken us days.  He was very friendly and clearly knows what he's doing.

Tom answered my call immediately and was able to come out to our home the very next week. He confirmed the appointment a few days before, which I appreciated. He arrived on time and promptly gave a quote for materials and labor. He had all the items in his truck and was able to get the job done (plus one additional job I added on!) within an hour and a half. He was pleasant and courteous and cleaned up when he was done. We're pleased with how the gates look and work. Though the out-of-pocket cost for something like this felt high at first, I feel better knowing it is done in a secure manner, with limited damage to my walls. We have installed baby gates ourselves in the past and our toddler was able to get around them. I couldn't take that chance with this staircase!

I hired Safe Solutions because we have an awkward stairwell in our historic house and I was overwhelmed by all the negative reviews of baby gates in general (both quality and difficulty of installation). Tom happened to be working in an adjacent town when I called and was able to stop by and install the gate within about an hour of our phone conversation. The gate is good quality with all metal hardware and I feel more at ease knowing that it is installed correctly. It also happens to looks nice. Tom was very professional and his rate was reasonable. I highly recommend him and will use him again for any additional baby proofing needs in our household.

I got Tom's name on Angie's List and couldn't be happier. He came the same week I called. He installed a gate at the bottom of the stairs and put cabinet and drawer locks on all our kitchen and bathroom cabinets and drawers and a stove lock. After failing to get a solid gate installed properly, ourselves, we finally decided to have it done professionally. Well worth it... Wish we hadn't waited so long. Tom was so nice and very professional. He was in and out in under an hour (even with my 2 boys in his face and investigating his tools). Everything has held up beautifully and it sees a lot of action! As solid as the day it was installed. My advice... Don't wait, get it done right the first time. With so many other things to worry about, don't let this be another one. Tom can do it in his sleep!

This service is very valuable for parents who do not have the time to babyproof or don't know what they should be doing for babyproofing.  As first time parents, it made us feel better having someone come over and do the work for us.  A lot of the things that Safe Solutions does you could easily do yourself, but sometimes it is good to just have someone do it for you to save time and so you know it is done right.  We have not needed to use a few of the safety mechanisms installed (yet) and I am annoyed at myself for having them installed, but that is my own fault.  You really never know what your kid is going to get into and better to be safe than sorry!

I am very happy with the quality of products installed and the timeliness of the installation. I do not think it was ethical to charge me extra (above and beyond the labor cost) to install a gate I previously bought, due to the fact he didn't get to sell me the gate directly. But once he was here doing the rest of the work I really had no choice but to go ahead.
His installations were great, exactly what I had hoped for to protect my toddler from climbing the stairs and opening dangerous cupboards. 
I would recommend he cleans up his debris in the future. There were piles of wood dust from drilling left at  both staircases.

I got in touch with Tom early one morning and he responded quickly. He had an opening that day so was able to come over immediately. He was incredibly nice (even to the baby -- which I find many people who come to the house are not!) and professional. He was able to complete the job from start to finish in less than 2 hours and brought all of his materials with him (ie he provides all the latches, brackets, and even the baby gates themselves). He even asked about nap time so he could decide when to put in the noisier gates, and he asked for a vacuum to clean up the mess from installing gates when he was finished which is very thoughtful. The gates are very sturdy while also being easy for adults to open, even while holding a baby. (He most often won't install baby gates you've bought from babies r us or wherever, but you are getting higher quality gates, and taking the time and guess-work out of sorting through which gates are safest yourself). I found the price reasonable for all the materials (all of the gates I needed were non-traditional sizes, not just for typical doorways) and labor. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

We are the lucky parents of two young ones a year apart (the oldest just about 2 now.)   We had made several attempts to do some childproofing around the house, but realized after my youngest, a boy, found the bottom storage drawer of the electric stove (which we had used for them to play in) but managed to slice his finger on one of the metal drawer edges, that we hadn't done a complete job.  With my wife home with the kids during the day and me working full time, we found it hard to get to the final projects, including finishing installing drawer and door stops which involve the use of a drill (not conducive to young ones naps).   
   
   We contacted Safe Solutions after hearing about Tom from a friend.  They had a great experience and when we called Tom, he was very responsive.  He came out and did an initial review of the house and didn't go overboard, but showed us what we should think about addressing.  My wife was very busy with the two young kids at the time, and Tom navigated my wife's interrupted attention.   We ended up hiring him to finish up installing the drawer/door stops, toilet stops, closet stops, mounted gate (at the top of our stairs... The one we had was a bit too flimsy), and latches for the stove and dishwasher.  
   
   Tom came out with an inventory of available products and told us we didn't have to decide until the day of the appointment, which I appreciated.  We ended up going with almost everything he had suggested.  (we had another gate that we were comfortable using on our own.)  Tom came out and and completed everything in a very quick and efficient manner.  He needed to add a piece of wood to secure the mounting brackets on our gate upstairs and used a piece that was appropriate and angled to match our chair rail.  He offered several types of latches to prevent our closet doors from opening. 
3. For a family with little time to handle anything but the kids, Tom was a great help and worth the cost.  I would recommend Safety Solutions to anyone seeking a professional opinion about the overall safety of your house for your young ones. 
   
   

We sent an inquiry through the website requesting information and Tom called right back and scheduled a time to come out and take a look and take measurements, show us options etc.   Tom showed up right on time and went over various options, demonstrated the fencing product and figured out a way for us to incorporate the pool fence into the existing fencing that was there.  Once we accepted the quote we scheduled the installation two weeks later.  The day of the install some areas had gotten snow, so Tom called to make sure that he'd be able to still do the install, which we were.  Tom and Pat showed up as scheduled to do the install and were very professional and courteous.  They went over the proposed layout with us and then got right to work.  Everything went off without a hitch and the final product looked very nice when they were finished.  They cleaned up after themselves and it did not look like they had been there at all except for the new fence around the pool.  I'd highly recommend their work.

Tom did a great job.  He came and looked at the job and gave us a price.  Then, came back as scheduled to do the work.  The work was done well.  Very pleasant to work with.  We didn't get more than one quote, but his price seemed reasonable.

They are absolutely wonderful. The gentlemen that came was amazing. I had a construction company come out, and they messed up the gate lock that they put in. They came to fix the gate free of charge.

As a professional baby planner and the owner of Dear Baby, I highly recommend Safe Solutions. Tom came to our house in North Providence, RI and completed a walk through where he detailed what we should be aware of and even dispelled some of the concerns I had. We decided to have him do all of the work instead of just providing us with an estimate and I am very glad that we did. He worked quickly, efficiently, and had everything on him. I figured he would have to go to Home Depot or run out and he didn't. I highly recommend this company to anyone concerned about babyproofing their house.  Tom is a really nice guy who is easy-going and responsive.  He was easy to reach by phone and made an appointment to come to our house within a couple days (the other company I called said we had to wait a month for the next available appointment.)  He arrived exactly when he said he would and toured the house with us to help us figure out what items we needed to babyproof the home for our 10 month old son.  He had good suggestions and advice and really knew what was hazardous and what wasn't.  He did not go overboard in his recommendations as I was concerned a professional babyproofer might.  Once we came up with a list of items we needed he then installed everything (he has all the items in his truck).  He was at our house for about 3 hours.  He installed gates on stairs (this would have taken us all day to figure out since we have an old house and a victorian staircase) cabinet locks in some places in the kitchen and bathrooms, toilet locks and sliding outlet covers.  He also anchored the flat screen TV and anchored some book shelves.  He also advised us on some things we could do to make the home safer.  I felt like this was money well spent. 

Tom saved the day when it came to childproofing my townhouse. I had tried to install gates before I called him and could never get the gate secure and safe enough for my toddler. I contacted him and he came out and had my entire house childproofed in an hour and a half. He was very professional and has a background in occupational therapy, which in addition to being a Dad, was helpful in showing me what my son would be getting into and what needed to be done in my house. He had all the proper tools, gates, etc with him in his van and got the job done very quickly with very professional results. If you are looking to childproof your home, don't even bother buying the stuff at Babies R Us and attempting the job yourself-- call Tom! We may be moving soon and the first call I make will be to him to fix up our new home!
