Hired to scrape and paint small cape style house, prime then paint with 2 coats, as well as do trim on doors and windows. Sanding was spotty and not feathered out. He did hose the house down with cleaner (bleach) prior to painting. He appeared to water down the paint (by a paint company), and there were spots he missed, not small things, but glaring. He didn't paint the trim at all. He took down gutters and painted them (metal) with 1 coat of latex, didn't bother behind, then nailed them to fascia board. Downspouts were not secured at all. WE had to rip the front gutter down in winter as it started to leak into house! He only did one coat of paint on house. He also painted over newly enamel painted bulkhead I told him not to paint, and left plant hangers (wrought iron) on house and painted them green too. The paint started peeling almost immediately. I called him in Spring to come back and fix the peeling paint. He haphazardly scrapped and tossed paint on. He never did trim, I did that myself. He painted my pressure treated front stairs which I specified not to, with latex and they were flaking off that winter. He was rude once he got the last check and disappeared. I called the paint company and they said it was the worst job they had seen, not done correct. Insurance won't cover this, and my agent recommended him! He also hacked down all the bushes around my house. Thank goodness, the paint company at least will give me a break on paint to replace it.
