Mike Hernon and his crew started the job quickly. They were very thorough and did excellent work. The stairs now look great. Cleanup was very good. Mike was responsive and easy to work with.

I chose Baystate based on the quality of their work on two of my neighbors houses. Those neighbors were very very satisfied with the work that had been done and the finished products were beautiful. My mistake was waiting 6 weeks to call Baystate, that's why my job didn't start until late October. Once Mike Hernon had seen the work required, I received a written estimate in the mail in a few days. Mike and his crew were very professional and hard working, sometimes working 10 hour days. I could not be happier at the results, would highly recommend.

They were great! Excellent response time. Christine was very nice and called me back immediately every time. The estimate was timely, detailed and very professional. Because the price was so reasonable I have money left in the budget to get new glass doors on the old fireplace. Mike was very patient and professional with all my questions and made suggestions about the cap and he caulked all around the flashing on the roof side where he thought I might have been getting water. He also repointed some bricks around the firebox in the kitchen. The crew were very polite and worked so hard during a very hot spell. The couple of times that I went out to ask a question they always smiled. Mike was there every evening to check on the work and made sure I was happy. They made a very scary project easy and painless. Thank you so much! See you when I need the other chimney done. :)

Getting an estimate initially was difficult to coordinate and I almost gave up on this company. However, once Mike arrived on site everything went smoothly. A hardcopy estimate arrived shortly after the visit. The scope of work proposed was a bit more extensive than proposals from other masons. Mike explained the tradeoffs and the requirement to bring the 40 year old chimney up to current building code The repair was scheduled a week in advance with consideration for weather. The crew showed up on time and worked a ten hour shift to complete the work in one day. The quality of the work was excellent with good attention to detail. They did a great clean up with no evidence of their activity left behind.

I had previously hired this company to repoint our foundation, and they did a great job. This time, we needed our cement front steps repaired. To be honest, I wasn't expecting the transformation that happened. I mean...they're just basic cement stairs, nothing fancy. Well, they look amazing. You can really see the care that went into the work, and I couldn't be happier. Not to mention that Mike and his team are the nicest.

Work went great over the course of a morning. Company knew we were on a tight time schedule and fit us in when they had another cancellation.

Very pleased with the entire experience. They were able to come out to take a look right away. We then received an estimate on the work within a week. As soon as we made the decision to go with Bay State, we were scheduled and done within a week or two. Work done is great. Basement was left cleaner than when they found it :)

The entire process was excellent, including the consultation, estimate, explanation, scheduling, the work itself and cleanup. Communication was also excellent and scheduling was prompt and the weather was a factor that was handled well. A highly professional job was done and the cleanup was excellent. The end result was very satisfying and we would not hesitate to hire them again for any mason work.

They were able to add our one day job in within a week of getting the quote. They were very neat and clean, did a great job completing the work. Our neighbors even commented on how professional and efficient they were. They replaced damaged bricks, ground out old mortar and replaced with new. Looks great!

Bay State Brick & Stonework was the easiest and nicest vendor I've ever worked with. They provided a quote, time for completion and banged it out as promised. They were very patient with our front porch project/contractor, who was taking forever and delayed this project. Our concrete back steps were crumbing on the bottom corner and they repaired them seamlessly, so we won't have to replace the steps. The front steps (CT fieldstone risers and granite treads) look amazing and blend well with our existing retaining wall. We needed to have the foundation repointed during our porch removal project and they came by within 48 hours to do the work. Mike was very easy to work with and he has a great crew that made the entire project seamless. I wish more contractors would take notice!
