As I stated, the work is continuing as we are a few weeks into a huge project. Jan started with a quote and details details details. There was not one piece of the quote that was not attributed to an item. He was methodical in the quote which made it so much easier for us to decipher what we needed to do and what could wait. He also helped with acquiring permits which unlike most contractors is a huge deal. He also provided insurance verication proactively which most contractors just don't do. Its a piece of mind to know the person you are paying and giving access to your home is vouched for. He is also extremely clean, him and his crew do the work, clean the space up every night. given we have an exterior facing wall exposed, he ensures its closed off evey night.. this is in itself a 30 minute exercise which he does daily to ensure our house is protected. He also is great an setting expectations and statuses, He does not go off in the wind and do things without consent. Jan is truly an awesome person and a great contractor.

Initially, Jan was chosen from three candidates because he proposed the most agreeable solutions to the unique problems of our situation. He also provided itemized quotes so we could see how the money was being spent, and allowed us to prioritize aspects of the project. His total quote was also lower than the other candidates quotes. Other contractors we interviewed for the upstairs bathroom remodeling were either uncomfortable with the complexity of the project or were unable to commit on a price until the room was gutted. Jan had the confidence and knowledge to carry out the task within the quoted price. Regarding the other bathroom, in which we used natural wood wainscoting and trim, I was impressed with Jan s technique and attention to detail in the crafting of these components. He slowed his pace to accommodate the natural wood finishing. The custom birch cabinets Jan built cost about as much as the high end home improvement store cabinets, but were of superior quality to even the best store-bought products. Jan will continue to work with us on any future remodeling tasks that we plan.

JAN IS EAGER TO PLEASE. HE IS PROMPT, PUNCTUAL, CREATIVE AND PATIENT. HE HAS A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR, WHICH I THINK IS CRITICAL IN THIS FIELD. HE IS TOTALLY TRUSTWORTHY WHICH IS ALSO VERY IMPORTANT. I GIVE HIM THE HOUSE KEYS AND HE COMES AND GOES WITHOUT A PROBLEM. HE IS LICENSED AND INSURED AND HAS WORKED IN MOST OF THE COMMUNITIES WITHIN THE 495 BELT. HE MAKES DIFFICULT TASKS SEEM SIMPLE AND HE IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE TO EXPLAIN CONSTRUCTION PROCESSES THAT I DO NOT UNDERSTAND. HE IS DEFINITELY A KEEPER!
