New Lucky's Hardwood Floor Service Inc.

Got Lucky's number from a couple of neighbors who used him. We'd seen the work and though it was good. Lucky showed up the next day and did the estimate. His prices are well below what you might pay elsewhere. He told us he could start in 2 days and while it would be a lot of effort to move everything out of those rooms we agreed. He showed up 2 days later and began work. You really need to move out of the house for this kind of work because, you can't touch the floors while the finish is drying and the smell is pretty strong. Lucky's crew did the work with no fuss and the job was finished as fast as anyone could expect. He started on a Wednesday and we returned on Sunday evening. The results: I think he did a great job. If I were nit picky I could find a thing or two but given what we paid, the work was very, very good. This kind of work produces a lot dust. Lucky's crew did a fairly good job of controlling the dust and cleaning up afterward. We did did have to dust the walls (Swiffer sweeper), window sills etc. We have an open floor plan the kitchen was vulnerable to getting covered with a lot of dust, so we taped up plastic sheeting over everything the best we could and used masking tape to seal closet doorways and the like. That went a long way to avoiding the worst of the dust problems. Lucky will be my first consideration for adding hardwood to the rest of the house when the time comes. Because of the nit-picky stuff I dinged them a bit on quality. On professionalism I also dinged them a point. Lucky and his team are all recent immigrants and so their English language skills are not quite up to par, and other cultural differences might leave you feeling less than comfortable. Not a big deal, but a bit less than perfect. Neither of these things were enough for me to give them less than an overall A rating.
