On January 27th, I scheduled a service call with them for my furnace which had stopped working. Their technician said the furnace was broken and needed to be replaced, and quoted me $10,000. I got a second opinion, and the second technician found a disconnected wire and quickly reconnected it. He extensively checked and tested the unit, and conducted CO2 testing around the house. I contacted John’s Oil to discuss the incorrect diagnosis. I spoke to John, the owner, who didn’t let me get a single full sentence in. He called me a liar, and said I had the furnace illegally patched, told me (verbatim) to go f*** myself and that he hopes I die in my sleep of carbon monoxide poisoning. He then hung up on me. I called back, and he screamed at the top of his lungs the entire time so I hung up. This man would rather wish me dead than acknowledge an error made by his company. Needless to say, I’m never giving them a single penny of my money ever again.

Terrible experience and horrible customer service! This company doesn’t even deserve 1 star. The owner was very rude and racist. I was charged the full price before the job was started. John took it upon himself to make decisions in not performing a job he charged me for. After I called the office several times about him completing the job he said it wasn’t required. I requested a refund for the labor I was charged for and didn’t receive an adequate refund. I regret calling this company. Customer BEWARE save yourself a headache and go elsewhere.

The driver was absolutely incredible. My driveway's remaining snow had melted and then refroze, making it slippery. The driver made more than one attempt and finally got the truck to the halfway point on my long driveway, using the hose to reach the house. He knew I was almost out of oil, since my old oil co. would not attempt the driveway. And he did this for a new customer. Great experience.

I purchased my home at the end of September. It wasn't too long after that that I needed to start thinking about heating the place for the winter. The folks who owned the house previously used John's Oil. I researched local providers and made a few calls to see if I could find someone new/better. Short story: for my money, John's Oil can't be beat. They cost of their oil is mid-range compared to other local companies, but it comes down to responsiveness and the quality of their service. They came out and performed annual maintenance on the heating units in November -- you have to get on the calendar early as they book up quickly -- and did a great job. The technician talked me through what he was doing and made sure I understood the process. I've had oil delivered 3 times so far and every time they've delivered it the same day I called. During a snow storm in January I had a problem with the heater. The technician arrived within 20 minutes of my panicked call and had the problem fixed within another 15 minutes. He was good-natured about coming out on dangerous roads and having to trudge through a snowbank to get into my basement. I would recommend them to anyone and they've got my business for the duration!

I will use this company and recommend them to all who will listen. Being new to the NorthEast, I was unfamiliar with using any type of heating company. After calling John's Oil, the person answering the phone was patient and professional, going out of her way to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. They arrived exactly as scheduled and checked my unit for safety. The driver took his time to answer all of my questions and address my concerns. VERY helpful and professional!

They came right away. They were pleasant and helpful. I needed someone to prime the burner and bring me some oil. The prices seemed very competitive.
