I called on Tuesday, the office got back to me later the same day and scheduled someone out Wednesday morning. The service was prompt and professional; they diagnosed the problem and fixed a couple related problems at a completely reasonable price.

The result is fine with the a second switch installed in an existing switch box and the wires in the box connected correctly.
The only issue I have is with the unexpected invoice for $175 for less than an hours work.  The work was performed during normal business hours and parking was available.  It was not an "emergency" call.  The invoice amount surprised me.
The visit was arranged by our realtor who met the electrician when he arrived.  The job was a simple switch box rewiring of existing wires already in the box and addition of a second switch.  I wasn't there personally,  but spoke to the electrician on the phone to explain what the wiring issue was.  He was polite and professional on the phone.
Our usual electrician who wasn't available charges $85/hr and is great.  My expectation was to pay somewhat more but not that great of a difference. 
I did not ask the realtor ahead of time what the it was going to cost and now realize that I should have.  He indicated that he'd had the company do work for him in the past.
I can afford to pay the invoice, and will, but think that I was definitely overcharged.

Completely satisfied with efficiency and completeness of job.  Pedro was creative and diligent with an issue with old wiring and bracket and was determined to make it work?and he did.  He also was helpful in advising on how chandelier should be hung.  Pedro also took time to gather information (and advise) for estimates for other jobs I was interested in.

Very pleased with Bob and team - responsive, professional, punctual, fair, pleasure to deal with. Had Bob and his team address three separate job on a newly purchased, older home. Upgraded our main electrical to 200 amp, took care of odds & ends, and also outfitted my garage for a workshop with a dedicated subpanel, heather, outlets and lights. His team was great, the work looks great, and we are enjoying the convenience of our modern electrical upgrades. Would highly recommend Bob Mahoney Electric.

Bob was very helpful on the phone to schedule the work and the electrician that came was extremely nice, professional, and patient. We got all the work done that we wanted and I would definitely recommend them in the future.

Bob is very responsive and delivered as promised within two days. No surprises and very professional.

I called Bob on Weds morning to see if he could help with this 2 step project (step 1 - come out, remove existing electric appliances, measure granite cutouts, step 2 - install new appliances once purchased). He got back to me later that afternoon, tentatively set up an appointment the following morning, and called later that evening to confirm someone could be there at 7am. He was quite responsive and friendly. We agreed  upon a price of $93/hr and he estimated the work would take 1.5 hours. I confirmed that they do not charge for travel time. 







Pedro arrived at 7:15 the next morning.  He was great - very efficient, friendly, and went beyond the scope of the job to check out a couple other things I had questions about. All in all took just under an hour. I confirmed the charge would be $93 before I wrote out the check and he said that typically they charge one amount for the first 30 mins and then a different amount for the next 30 mins so he'd have to check with Bob. He went out to get an invoice and came back and told me the charge was going to be $140. I said no, we agreed upon a price of $93 per hour and the job took under an hour. He called Bob and gave me the phone. Bob immediately started screaming at me, saying that he said the job was going to be 1.5 hours, that Pedro was there unloading his car at 7am (there was nothing to unload mind you), told me to pay whatever I wanted, to remove his number from my phone, and said good luck finding someone to do the rest of the job. I was completely caught off guard by his attitude and asked him what rate he was proposing I pay since we had agreed to $93 per hour. He continued to yell at me, be rude, and hung up. 







I would not recommend this company to anyone. I was very excited to have found a great electrician, as I have an old condo and lots of long term updates on my to-do list. This was also a 2 part job, so Bob knew that they would be getting more money for this job in a few weeks. Had he been calm on the phone and said something along the lines of "our minimum for this job was 1.5 hours I must not have made that clear yesterday" that would have been one thing. But no, he screamed at me, went on and on, and hung up. Pedro was so embarrassed and apologized profusely, but it was too late. I will not take that treatment from anyone, let alone someone I am paying for service. Do not recommend.

They arrived on time, were quick and efficient. I will definitely use them again.

Arrived a little late to look at the work to be done, but did come and scoped out the work.  Provided the quote and said he would be able to get the job done the next day.  Worker arrived on time and completed work before I arrived back home.  Everything worked and was in the places I desired.  All in all from initial contact on Angie's list on a Thursday, schedule confirmation on a Monday (Labor Day) night, scope on Tuesday and work done on Wednesday, everything was done timely and professionally.

I contacted a handful of electricians with specific questions and Bob was the only one who answered all my questions in the first email contact, which left a good impression.
Mahoney Electric was a great company to work with.  They called 30 minutes before arriving to let us know they were on the way and then arrived just when they had said they would. The electrician spent time making sure we were totally satisfied with the height of the lights and how they looked. He even measured to make sure our dining room light was centered over the table. The professionalism, attention to detail and ease of working with the technician, left a lasting impression. We would definitely hire this company again for any lighting or electricity projects.

Bob was very easy to work with, he gave me an itemized quote for the work and walked me through what is would entail.  The day of the job Bob and 2 other workers in his crew showed up at 7am as promised.  Throughout the process they put down drop cloths and vacuumed/swept any dust they created.
The 3 electricians worked non-stop for 9 hours to get all the work done.  They asked questions to clarify where we wanted things placed, which I appreciated.  Overall we had a great experience and I would recommend Bob to friends/neighbors who need electrical work done.

Extremely well.  Bob came over for an initial review and provided good estimate.  One of his team came a couple of hours and performed all the jobs with high degree of professionalism and satisfaction.
Will always use Bob in future for our electrical needs.
