A 1 Exterminators

We are so thankful for Tony from the Lynn office of A1. He did an exceptional job in explaining the habits of the mice he helped remove. He also followed up with us to make sure that the mice were removed. He was truly a professional and we would highly recommend him to anyone who would be using the Lynn MA A1 location for extermination services.

My contact with A1 Exterminators went well from beginning to end. Their office is friendly and responsive. Setting up my appointment was easy, as was changing it when that was needed. When they arrived they were easy going, communicative, happy to answer my questions, and were clearly very experienced. They completed their work in a timely way and the result was excellent. I could not have been happier.

They treated the attic, garage and outdoor areas as well as baseboards indoors. Problems solved.

A-1 Exterminators bought out the company that originally treated our property. Since then, they have completed approximately 17 annual inspections for a fee. About a month ago, my husband decided to replace a few battered (chewed looking) shingles on the front of the house. He found that the walls in that area seemed soft. On further inspection he discovered heavy insect damage. Studs, headers, and other pieces of trim were so destroyed the material left behind was something comparable to spongy drift wood and saw dust. Fortunately the second story floor joists were only at the beginning stage of attack with minimal damage. When we contacted A-1, they assumed no responsibility for the situation and were only concerned with charging additional fees for a new two year "guarantee" on their work or partial treatment with no "guarantee". We anticipate that the final repair cost will be between $4000 and $5000. I can in no way recommend this company.

Very quick service! I've had a Sentricon termite monitoring system for about 8 years now, and the representative that comes to check the bait stations each year is always pleasant and thorough. Reports are emailed directly to me at the end of each appointment which allows me to keep records of insect activity. Recently, I noticed what looked like sawdust in my basement. I called A-1 Exterminators, and a representative came the very next day to treat the house for carpenter ants. Rather than just spray to kill the ants in the house, the representative took the time to assess the entire situation and directly treated only those areas that were affected rather than putting pesticides all throughout the house. He then proceeded to treat the outside so that ants will stop coming in. He found an outdoor ant nest and treated that with a bait designed to kill the queen and eliminate the colony. He was able to answer all of my questions, and was very knowledgeable about insect behaviors and recommended treatments that would use the insects' behaviors to eliminate the problems. I highly recommend A-1 Exterminators if you have an insect infestation or just want to prevent an insect extravaganza in your house.

We interviewed several companies and this one inspired the most confidence.

The system is set up where they only need to monitor it once a year. It's little bait stations and if the termites come close to the house they take the bait back to their colony. It's a way to avoid putting pesticides around the house.

A1 Exterminators are top notch and very informed to educate the public about those little pests. We have had A1 Exterminators out to our property several times when I can't handle my DIY maintenance. I have told all my neighbors and friends that it's an education on how to prevent costly pest damage and worth every cent.

I saw a rat on the property and called A1.  They sent out an expert the following day.  Matt did an inspection of the outside of the building.  He also inspected the basement.  Thankfully, there was no evidence of any rodents around or inside the house.  The rat that I saw was probably sick.  Matt was and professional and knowledgeable.  He arrived within the time block that was agreed upon.  The customer service representative was also very professional.  I would use this company again.

The Glue traps didn't work at all so I put my own snap traps which has caught a few mice. I explained very clearly that my attic was very small and they needed to send someone that could climb up there, this time they sent a very tall gentleman. Again he was very nice and put some traps around the opening, no where near where I explained where we're seeing the mice.
Again my snap traps caught another mouse so I've canceled my service with them.

The person who removed the wasp's nest (Josh) was very helpful and knowledgeable.  He went above and beyond, answering our questions and showing us exactly what he did.  He gave me a call an hour before he arrived to let me know he was on his way.  I would definitely use this company again!  Several other companies that I called were not available to come out until a week later.  A1 was able to come out the following day. 

Very friendly. Professional. Honest. Arrived on time?early, actually. Could take two weeks to know if what he did actually worked, but early results look excellent. Ask for James!

As mentioned earlier, I was pleased with the work ethics of the exterminators as I was willing to have someone take down a nest I suspected was in a rubber barrier.  The man from A-1 assured me that he suspected that wasn't the case and let me know he would return if I encountered a problem (I haven't since).  
Before this experience, a couple of years ago, in a different home, I was having trouble with mice.  I tried capturing and releasing on my own until that seemed to not work in the long run.  The man (a different one) who came to treat my home against these mice was very sensitive to my angst in doing so (I can't even kill spiders).  He was also very nice.  I was charged then $270 for that treatment.

We've used A1 for the past 9 years for our home. We've been very satisfied and they always come out quick when there's a problem.

They donate their services to us. We like the fact that it is free, which probably isn't going to apply to anybody else. They are thorough and consistent with what they are doing. We have a service contract with them.

I've had them probably for the last seven or eight years. They charge $129 each time. I've been satisfied. It has prevented spiders or insects getting in the house. I had no problems with mice in the garage area. If I needed them to come out to do a re-treatment if I did have a problem, they would come out with no charge.

The overall experience with them was okay.  I will not use them again because they did not do a good job.  There were three different guys that came every time so there was no continuity.  There was also a misunderstanding about the contract because I thought the $400 charge includes 2 follow up visits then it turned out id didn?t.  I was not impressed with them so I am going to use somebody else.    

The exterminator was very knowledgable and explained the process and the time he would take.  He was true to his word..  The exterminator company told me that this this work was guaranteed for 6 months not to have anymore moths.  However, I did see one moth after that.  There has been no more infestations and I think all and all a job well done.
