In Star Services Group

InStar personnel were very poor communicators.  It started with them not scheduling the start date when they had promised and then blamed it on us not having signed the contract on time.  The supervisor who was supposed to oversee the subcontractors was virtually ineffective.  We would call to inform him of problems (sloppy work, wrong colors, behind schedule, etc) and he would occasionally show up and "yell" at the workers.  They went right back to their sloppy ways when he left.  They failed to take down the crown molding as specified in the contract when repairing the ceiling.  Then they took it down to repaint it, leaving cracks all around perimeter that had to be repaired.  They never moved our furniture out to the storage pod we had to pay for.  Instead, they just shoved it to middle of room and left it covered with dust.  The site was a nightmare the entire time of their work. Some of the painted areas had to be redone due to sloppiness of workmanship.  They ordered the wrong wallpaper for a bathroom and then charged us for it.  They never told us price of carpet ?upgrade? when the one we wanted was not in stock and had to be substituted.  The cleanup at the end of the work was dismal, leaving wallpaper paste all over the shower stall and plumbing.  We were told we would not have to pay for their mistakes, but they billed us at the end anyway.  After extensive back and forth discussions, just to be rid of them, we agreed to pay $3000 more than we really owed according to the actual work done.
