This was the first time we used Troy Moving to relocate our office from North Andover to Chelmsford. Troy was very up front with his quote, and his rates were competitive with other movers we looked at. The crew was quick, careful, and efficient. I would definitely use them again!

Total hack job moving a piano to our home in Billerica. The destroyed our deck and broke the piano during the move. We told them up-front the size, type and dimensions of the piano. They sent 3 movers for a job. The movers they sent complained the whole time that the manager should have assigned 6 people. I spoke to the manager immediately after the movers left, about the damage to our deck and the piano, asked if he wanted me to send him photos. He said “Not at this time, I will check with my guys and call you back at the end of the day.” That was 4 days ago, no call back. That’s okay, compadre, I’m just going to win an open and shut small claims suit on the matter and will permanently leave this review, that is posted from my seasoned and real accounts, up on every website people look for movers. Hack job, unprofessional booking and zero accountability.

Everything was wonderful. Troy came over and gave us an estimate in person. I felt that Troy was honest and a no nonsense person. Actual cost ended up being lower than the actual quote which is always good. I felt he was very knowledgeable and has many years experience. His workers were on time, polite and did the move precisely and very timely. They were unbelievable workers! In a world where you can not trust everyone, trust Troy's Moving!. I would use them again in a minute. Thanks Troy and movers!

Full disclosure: we did not have the movers move everything; mostly large, bulky items and anything that couldn't fit in a hatchback via numerous back and forth trips. I'd heard horror stories about movers before and had never used one but when my wife and I bought a house we knew we couldn't do everything ourselves considering we have 18 month old twins. I shopped around for the best quote and when Troy called me, he laid it all on the table. He advised me how to do the quickest and easiest move. In other words, he prepped us on how to be as efficient as possible. For example, we have two cribs and he said they would happily break them down and set them back up, but if we wanted to save time (and money) it might be easier for us to break the cribs down ourselves. Troy was very open and honest about what they were going to do. There were no hidden fees, and we actually ended up paying $200 less than our initial quote. The movers we had were a 3 man crew and couldn't have been more courteous and professional. They arrived 15 mins early and were all business once they got to the apartment. They asked questions if they were unsure about something and were flexible when I needed to add more items to the truck. When they delivered to the new house, they were just as good. In fact, our twins napped the whole time they were unloading. I'm not sure if my experience is typical or not, but my advice to anyone needing a mover: do as much as you can yourself and let the movers do everything else. When it does come time to get help I highly recommend Troy's and I would heed his advice when discussing a plan of action because it will save time and money.

I talked to several movers from Angie's List and received a few quotes. I liked Troy the best, but was concerned about the one negative review. After I talked to Troy, I felt very comfortable with his advice, his price and his understanding of our needs. We hired him. His guys were amazing. They did a great job moving heavy furniture down and up stairs in a very efficient manner. Excellent service and a good price! Very happy with them.

We are very happy with the service provided by Troy and his team! I like that Troy himself came out to give me an estimate and that he provided suggestions for ways to make our move cheaper. He was great with any follow up questions that I had regarding the move and the best way to pack.
The team of men that moved us were fantastic! They showed up on time, were very professional and careful and they worked very quickly! We had to work to keep up with them!  I will definitely call Troy if I need local movers again!

The move took only two hours, but we were charged for three, which I didn't notice until much later.

3 movers arrived 10 minutes early, which was fine be me. I particularly like that they all introduced themselves and shook my hand. These guys (and I'm sorry I don't remember their names) were very professional and kept working. It was obvious they knew what they were doing. They were careful with all my belongings. The price was also very fair. Overall, a great experience and I would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again!

I should of known that i was not on Troys priority list when he had to put me off for the afternoon instead of my original 7:45 am . Troy had called me Wednesday to ask if it was alright and said they would be at my brothers between 11 and 12pm. They showed up at 12:40pm.. It was pouring so I gave them that.. But when one of the guys came in with a major attitude ( we cannot take those lamps,you will have to put them in your car) this before even saying hello. I thought ..WOW..this should be fun. I want to say the other two gentlemen where very kind and did a great job! As I said it was pouring so,when they started to take my bedroom furniture outside exposed to the rain, I asked that they cover it ...attitude again. They said they would but did not do so..covered only the tops of my things including my king mattress!?!?

When we got to the storage unit, I had some of my furniture still wrapped up nicely by Five Star movers and all of a sudden this one guy was going to start to take the wrap off( What he was thinking, I do not know) it was still pouring out!

Okay off to Billerica.... I get there and wait for awhile..get nervous they got lost...so I call the office looking for them and got told it was pouring and it might take them a longer time because of traffic..??. No kidding I am standing in the rain waiting..?? I did not say that but wanted to...so here the guys come. They started off strong but faded real fast.. I had a lot of boxes coming into a small place so they just started to pile them up in place that I told them things where going...they just started to yes me to death...they start to pile things up in the hallway...on railings.. My bed was not setup....kitchen table not setup...it's getting late nothing is set up...so I say...and quot; Things are not going as I expectedand quot; ... The attitude guy seems to thing this is disrespectful and I am treating him badly because he is a mover!!

Did I mention I am disabled, moving into a senior/disable housing situation so I am not a well to do person! I thought he was kidding but now he is threatening not to finish putting my stuff together and just leave! Well now there are a few words and I say fine but there will be not money..I now call to talk to Troy, eventually calls me back and also yells at me ...and quot; most places send children so you are lucky, you have the three best mover in the Nation working for you!and quot; but apparently told the other two guys to come in and finish up because they did! Troy said a lot more thing to me on the phone that made no sense at all but I won't embarrass him by repeating them!

Sorry this statement was so long but I am still in shock that Troy would be okay with the fact that this young man yelled at me but he also yelled at me...over nothing!!!

Troy is the owner and the front-line person to respond on the telephone. I did not use e-mail or a web site. He was recommended to me from someone else who was very happy with their service moving a household.
There are 2 telephone numbers, an 800-680-MOVE (6683) as well as the one above. He fit me in, on an already busy schedule. He had his men call me, and they did, 1/2-1 hour before arriving at the first destination. They were held up on I-93 from the south (Arlington) due to traffic, and called me when they were running late due to that. They went straight to work, two of them started on the items in storage while the third man took care of the paperwork necessary. In no time at all the items were on the van and we were ready to travel. Very quick, careful and professional.
Arrived at the apartment; I showed them the options for moving the items in and between 1st and 2nd floors, front or back staircase. They made the best call, and proceeded, no hitches, with one water break on a hot hot day. They were very careful to balance the work loads as they worked, working with one another's strengths as well. From the time of pick up in Methuen to completion of the job in Andover it was one and a quarter hour, 3 men.
Troy provided my estimate with a base miniimum of 3 hours/job, a fuel surcharge, 3 men and a truck, and an hourly cost. It was very fair, actually, around half the cost of some verbal estimates from other movers.
From my experience on 7/12 it is obvious they know what they are doing, have worked togehter for some time and work very well together. I do recommend this company, a local, small business that is well worth the cost.

It went really well! They were extremely careful and didn't damage or mark anything in the process. They were nice, efficient and professional.

We used Troy's to move furniture, household items and boxes from our old home in Lowell to our new house in Westford. Troy's guys were fantastic; hardworking, polite and got the job done quickly. Nothing was damaged or broken and they placed all the items where I wanted them in the new house. Best of all, because Troy charges by the hour, the job came in under the quote he gave us.

Troy and movers made the move SO. EASY ! Movers did an 18 hour day to move us in 1 day. 4 guys packed , 3 guys travelled and unpacked. NO damage , no problems , no complaints , no hassles. Jay made sure we were pleased, and we were. Thanks to Angie's List for helping me locate this company. We didn't want to play Russian roulette with our move!

With relatively short notice Troy was able to fit me in.
They arrived promptly, even though we were in the middle of a rain/snow storm.
The team was outstanding, taking great care with the items. I had a few heavy bulky items.
Everything was covered going out and in of the houses.
You can't beat the value and level of service that they provide.
I would use Troy's again in a heartbeat.
If you do use them listen to the advise that Troy gives on preparing, it absolutely helps things go faster.

The movers were prompt and on time. Troy (business owner) made accommodations to fit our move at the last minute and was flexible with our schedule. The movers were polite, helpful, patient, and careful with our things. Everyone was great to work with, and we will use them again if we move.

Troy had the best hourly rate, therefore we went with him. We also believed he provided the best estimate that would get all our stuff moved in the most timely fashion. Troy was also very responsive to me at all times and we actually had to finalize the move date at the last minute and he was very flexible. His team showed up right on time and got right to work after a quick walk-through.
The guys on Troy's team were friendly and hard working. They also kept a positive attitude throughout the move. They were what you'd expect for moving guys and I think they did their best.
I would recommend Troy's moving due to the good hourly rate and no hidden fees. We got what we expected and there were no surprises.

We downsized from a 10 room house to a 4 room apartment. It was a local move (5 miles). Troy personally came to our house, walked through what was going to storage and what was coming with us, recommended ways we could save money on the move, answered all our questions. His estimate was very reasonable as compared to the big moving companies. On the day of the move, Troy and 4 movers came on time. Troy supervised the initial portion of the move and then left the job in the hands of a very capable supervisor. The movers were very professional, efficient, and friendly. There was no breakage or damage to any of our belongings.
Our job came in a little below the estimate. We have been moved professionally multiple times and this was by far the best experience we have ever had with a moving company. We would hire this company again in a heartbeat.

Ultimately, they moved everything for me. They went above and beyond what they initial stated they would move. I would definitely recommend them.
