They were prompt when we called them, they came actually, that day. So, the respond was good, they were very professional.
I called several service companies to fix my clothes dryer the morning of 8/4/14. Sears was talking a week and a half before dispatch, someone else said a couple days. I called Thibodeau next. He happened to be in between service calls and was in my proximity. Told me he'd swing by and at a minimum diagnose the problem on his way to the next call-out. He was here in 30 minutes, then left to get a coil, came back, replaced the coil, vacuumed the dryer & fallen lint, put it all back together. He was quite pleasant & courteous and had his son with him showing him the fundamentals. I hope his son paid close attention to how his dad was representing himself and his profession.
Lastly, I've been in the customer service business for 30 years and I know what it takes to provide great customer service. Thibodeau Appliance Repair has exceptional customer service. The price was very fair as well.
I explained I will no longer call him as I always get the same response. ALL appliances are and quot;olderand quot;. So even though I used him three times he never repaired anything. sorry but no confidence vote here.
He was very courteous, professional and pleasant -- and arrived 20 minutes early, which worked out great for us. We were super impressed by his expertise on major appliances and felt very comfortable with what he advised.
Turns out the dryer issues were due to ventilation problems. The dryer vent was crushed and not allowing proper airflow. He replaced what he could of it with a better quality flexible piping, but said that the entire vent system from the back of the dryer to the outside vent (several feet of twists and turns) needs to be lined with metal, which will keep the vent open and help to prevent mold buildup. He said we're fine for now because we're headed toward winter when mold should not be a major concern but suggested that we call him back in the spring before the weather gets warm to do the work.
He also took the dryer apart and cleaned it, replaced the broken dryer door switch and the on button on the washing machine. He recognized immediately that both units are no more than 7 years old, in very good shape, and make a very high quality set of the and quot;old styleand quot; (meaning no electronics) that should last us at least 15-20 years.
As a courtesy, the gentleman also took a look at our kitchen appliances and recommended that, when we decide to make wholesale changes, we should replace the cooktop that has no parts available with a range of our choice. Because this will involve cutting into countertops and cabinets, he also had the good idea to make our wall oven space a hole for a microwave and add a drawer. Then keep the wall oven, drop it into a cheap cabinet from a home improvement store and move it downstairs to give us an extra oven for holiday cooking. He left us a contact for custom cabinetry and who could move around what we need and update the molding for not much money.
We definitely recommend this business, and we will call this gentleman back in March to get the rest done. A great experience, a great value, and very helpful advice.
