I have been a customer of Security Pest for years and recently received service that was above and beyond.  It was only two days before my son's birthday party and we asked Security Pest to come to remove a vacant bird's nest from under our screened-in porch as well as treat against the residual bird mites that they left behind, which I had found out about from sitting in the porch myself and started to itch.  I should have called weeks before to be honest, but life gets in the way and I put it off.  Their first opening was a week out, but after hearing our story and the potential impact to our party, they made arrangements to their schedule to enable a technician to come out the very next day.  The mites were treated and we were able to use the porch without any risk of bites from unwanted guests.  I couldn't be more thankful for such a quick turn from Security Pest.
I should mention that I also subscribe to their Residential Maintenance Program and while I don't know if that factored into their responsiveness, I do know it did not hurt.  But if it did help, it made paying for the program all the more worthwhile to get the service I needed when I needed it.

I hired Security Pest to solve the bee problems in my wall outside my house. The technician was on time and very polite. He treated the beehive quickly and efficiently. After a week, they came back for the second treatment since I still saw some bees around. It is now all set. Their work has one year warranty.

I had mice in my house and garage.  Let me preface this with the fact that I am over-the-top freaked out by mice.  We put out a trap and caught the first mouse that we saw in our kitchen.  A few days later we caught a second.  The second one put me into a complete state of panic.  I called Security Pest, and told them I had mice in my house.  He asked the size of my house, (2500 sq ft) and said it would be $225 and they would send someone out at 9am the next morning.  My first mistake....I didn't ask what they were going to do to rid me of my mouse problem. Definitely a dumb mistake, but as I said, I was in a panic.  The person I spoke with did not offer any information.
Promptly at 9am, two techs showed up at my door.  They were polite and professional.  They asked where I saw the mice and I told them they were in the areas between my kitchen and living room and I found a dead one in the garage.  They started to poke around the kitchen and living room, noted a few spots where they "might" have come in - but they did not plug/seal any holes.  They then went to the garage and poked around.  Same thing.  Noted a few places they might have come in, how they might have gotten in the house, but didn't seal/plug any holes.  They kicked a few boxes, used a flashlight to see if they saw any droppings.  They then put down a couple of those dcon bait boxes in the garage, basement, and kitchen.  They didn't go through the other rooms on the first floor.  They did go up to the attic as I told them 10 years ago I had mice up there.  No signs of anything up there, but they left some bait boxes.  Didn't look through anything on the second floor. They walked around the outside of the house.  Said they didn't see anything special.
Then they said, the mice would feed from the bait boxes and when they started not feeling well, they would wander outside and die.  It was "unlikely" that I would find any dead mice in the house.  It would take a week or two before they were gone.  And, my visit came with an 8 month guarantee, but I was told to wait 3-4 weeks before calling again if there is still a problem.  No automatic follow up visit to see if there was still any activity.
Sorry, I don't think this was worth $225.  If I had known all they were going to do was drop a few bait boxes around, I could have done that myself...even in my complete state of panic.

The exterminator arrived on time and in an unmarked van (good for those who are concerned what neighbors think). He asked questions about where I noticed the mice and made quick work of laying traps in the basement and garage. He didn't recommend baiting outside since it would attract mice to the house. (Another company that gave me an estimate did recommend baiting outside.) He didn't bait the attic/roof area because I didn't know mice had already gotten up there, so I will need to call them back out to lay traps there too. I would have preferred if the guy was more thorough and baited up there anyway. I do like the fact that they have an 8-month guarantee, but that's what you pay for. Honestly, I could have laid the same amount of bait and traps for about $25 in supplies from the hardware store, maybe $50 if I put bait in the roof area and outside too.

The technician was very helpful in explaining what he would be doing. The service took about 20 minutes. He explained what results to expect and to call for guaranteed re-spraying if I still saw bugs.

We’ve just been happy with their service in general.  They’re always prompt and on time.  They kind of go above and beyond to make sure that our problem is solved.  They are highly recommended.  We will continue to use them in the future.

we called them when we started having problems with the insulation on wiring being chewed.  They responded quickly, identified the source of the problem as well as a problem with bats and spent the better part of a day closing openings and setting up one-way doors to allow them out, but not return.  When we discovered mice during re-wiring they returned and set baits to eliminate them.  So far it appears they were successful.  They are not cheap, but the guarantee is very good and they appear to honor it without question.

I think they’re great.  The work they did was great and I have no complaints.  The price actually depends on the plan that is picked.  I actually picked the full service plan where no matter what I have for the year, I’m covered and they just show up and come and spray.  This house here is pretty big and it’s about 6000 square feet.  I’m currently using them and I will use them again in the future.

We've used Security Pest for almost 10 years at two different single family homes.  The workers are professional, knowledeable, and punctual 80% of the time (8 out of 10 years I would guess).  They have used the same product for 10+ years, Termidor SC, which is not available for sale to consumers in Mass.  The product is rated by the EPA for outdoor use only and the MSDS is avalable for discerning customers.  If applied properly, and before the ants wake up from the rain and sun it will last all season.  Only a few occasions did we have to "upgrade" to the annual plan to get a second treatment, probably because we ordered the treatment too late in the season.   If you're too late in getting the barrier treatment it can take 2-3 weeks with ants on the inside of the house before the carrier the poison back to the nests which will kill the rest of the ants.  For the past 9 years we have not used any ant traps or poisons on the incide of the house due to pets and children.

Whenever we've had an ant or critter problem we've called Security Pest.  They have coupons online, and returning customers get a postcard with a discount too.  This is their website:  www.securitypest.com/

I have had a good experience with them overall. They spotted mice droppings while they were here for the ants so they took care of the mice, too. After they left, I still saw some ants so they came back out to fix it. Unfortunately, they are expensive.

I called Security Bee Removal because I noticed a large wasps nest underneath the eves of my home. I wanted to get this taken care of rigt away because I was worried about them stinging my children. Also, I didn't want the wasps to start taking over our back yard especially with summer right around the corner. When I called their company and explained my emergency situation, they were very understanding and reasured me that they would take care of it right away. They sent a technician out to my house who was very knowledgable and experienced. He knew exactly what to do to take care of the nest in a safe and professional manner. After he removed the nest, he also applied a treatment to the whole exterior of my home to ensure that they would not rebuild on my house. I was very pleased with the whole experience and the price was resonable as well.

It was good. They offered us a guarantee. The were efficient with the work. If you see any hornets after they spray, they will come back and spray again with free of charge. They were very professional. They gave us a senior citizen discount. He really knew what he was doing.

Multiple exterminators were unable to correctly identify spring tails. After 2 attempts to kill bugs that weren't from the drain (as each exterminator swore they were), we ended up having our main pipeline replaced, only to find out, later on, that the bugs originated outside the house. Since they failed to resolve the problem, they promised to return the following spring (2006) for free to identify and treat the bugs. Not only were they unable to identify the bugs, but they also charged for the visit. We ended up identifying the spring tails on our own. We would never recommend them.

I can tell you if you have bats, this company will do a great job of getting rid of them. We were totally content with the services they did for us and they certainly got rid of the bats we had in our house so we were pretty pleased. I have no complaints about them and if we ever got bats again, they would be who I would call.
