He listened to my specific concerns, then went up and looked at everything, came back down after a while and told me I'm all set, nothing to fix. Gave me some recommendations for when the time comes, but didn't ask for any money or pressure me to do anything. He mainly wished me a pleasant day and left. I will definitely hold on to his business card for when the time comes that I need actual roof repair!
They explained what they were doing throughout and the process. They also gave us additional insight into how poorly the existing roof had been installed. Not as a sales pitch but more informative and the specifics of where corners were cut and quality of material.
It was that attention to detail that prompted us to hire Paul again to redo the shingles on the other half of the roof.
Coordinating with Paul was effortless and they protected the house and cleaned up as well.
Once the work started his team showed up on time and worked quickly to finish the job on schedule. They were very flexible in terms of additional requests once the roof was off. We took the opportunity to spray for insects and run internet and cable wires that are otherwise impossible to run on a flat roof, no-basement house. I was impressed that they didn't charge extra for these last- minute changes.
We've had the new roof long enough that I'm convinced that all the leaking problems have been fixed. Of course, judging a new roof is a long-term proposition so we'll have to wait to see how the PVC does over the long terms. Based on a comparison between when we put on the rubber membrane (replacing tar and gravel) and having just put on the PVC, I'm very happy we went with the PVC this time.
Overall, we enjoyed working with Paul and his team and would happily hire them again.
He was on time and extremely professional....and honest!
He replaced a flange on the bathroom vent pipe and charged a very modest price.
I then had other questions regarding other roof issues and he advised what I needed to do, but more importantly, what I didn't need.
He then let me know what repairs should be done and how to prioritize them.
I would highly recommend Constitution Contracting!
I first contacted Paul to get an estimate. Initially, his first estimate was around $9,500 and since I wanted to save some money, he worked with me through out the process to take things (aluminum flashing, etc.) off from the list that wasn't necessary to me. His next estimate was 7,600 along with Angie's List coupon, it came down to 7,200, and he started the job the following Friday and finished up the following morning.
Paul answered my call right away and set up an appointment the next day to see my roof for an estimate. (He was the only one that was that prompt!) Paul was on time and gave a brief overview. He even took the time to come inside my home to view my roof concerns raised by my home inspection. He quickly reassured me that all issues could be repaired.
On a mild day in December, Paul and his crew arrived early again ready for the roof repair
The crew arrived on time and were pleasant to work with. They did the entire job in 1 day. The roof looks great. Importantly, they cleaned up well. They took the time to rake the bushes and yard and even swept the work dust out of the attic.
It's hard to exceed my expectations, but these folks did.
I highly recommend them.
The only negative was that a fair amount of old roof debris fell between the roof boards into the attic. Most of my belongings were in bags or boxes, but not all. A warning would have appreciated.
I would actually rate the experience a B+
