Neufell Tree & Landscape

We had several very large pine trees knocked down and damaged from a severe thunderstorm and winds, and needed them removed quickly since some were still partially held up and could have fallen on our back fence. Any of the trees would have hit our house and done a lot of damage if they fell in that direction. We contacted a few tree removal companies, and Tim came out the next day to look at the situation and was able to fit us into his schedule within a few days to do the work. We picked Neufell Tree & Landscape out of the other tree removal companies because Tim had the best plan for how to remove the fallen/broken trees and a few others that were a danger of falling in the future, and at a reasonable price. We're glad we did because they did an excellent job. The crew worked hard, was pretty quick for the amount of tree removal work they did, and was able to precisely take down the large pine trees in the directions where they wanted to, without any falling near our house or fence (which was a concern of ours with at least one very large broken tree trunk suspended over our fence after the storm). Tim was great to discuss the project and future potential landscaping projects with. At least 3 of our neighbors hired them later to remove storm damaged and other trees on their properties, and were happy with the work as well. We plan to hire them again for any future tree projects as well as other landscaping.

Great! They also pruned some tall overgrown bushes while they were up in the bucket.

Tim is a great guy and as owner/operator will be on site to perform the job. We have used Tim at least 4 times over the past several years and he has been great to deal with. He is also able to count on a network of others to problem solve given the situation (bucket trucket vs crane vs tree climbing vs needing to have logs removed vs stump grinding). He has become a trusted partner and has expanded his capabilities over the years.

I had this job quoted by 2 other tree companies, but Neufell Tree & Landscape were the only ones willing to do the complete job. They took down the fence, cut down, cut up and removed the trees, and put the fence back up.

I would highly recommend this company. Tim was extremely responsive to my messages and the crew arrived exactly when they were supposed to. They worked fast and cleaned up so well you would never know they were there. The price was fair as well. Definitely would hire again.

I got a response to my email quickly with a promise to come and look at the project, then he went dark. No visit, no call, no contact at all.

Tim did a great job. Took down 8 trees. Brought in loam and reseeded yard where damage occurred during the job. Grass grew in beautifully. Tim very professional, punctual, and thorough. A pleasure to work with. His bid was second to none. Best price out of 10 vendors that I got estimates from.

We had contacted Neufell Tree and Landscaping in the summer to estimate the cost of cutting trees in the backyard which was overgrown and on a hill and also to cut some trees along the driveway and branches hanging over wires. The estimate was done on the spot. We waited until the fall to contact him to get the work done.He and his crew came and went over the work again before they started. The work was done in the time estimated. The tree branches were all cleaned up with the chipper.The logs from the driveway were removed. They even used a blower to clean up the remains of the chipping and lots of fallen leaves. One branch over the wires was missed but they came back the next day to finish. They were very courteous, professional and reasonably priced.

The tree was planted late (November 10) and they discovered lots of cement blocks buried in the area and had to remove them before planting the tree. We had lots of snow during the winter and two blizzards. I was sure the tree would die but it lives!

Tim, the owner, was great from the initial contact. Although a little late for the estimate due to having too many projects he still came within a reasonable time. Despite being very busy there wasn't a rush to get in, quote, and get out. We walked the property and discussed best options for the trees that had to be removed, which trees had to come down, and which should stay. He provided me the estimate on site and I agreed to have the work scheduled. The day of the project Tim and his small crew and equipment arrived early and went over the plan one final time before proceeding. For this project all the right equipment was there: bucket truckers, large chippers, dump trucks and a madman who climbs the trees to cut them down. Overall they worked steady throughout the day and made great progress, including wrangling up a log truck to remove the large trees. Tim and his crew did return the next day for a few hours for a final clean up and did not charge me any extra. Overall it was a great experience, and as a bonus Tim actually cleared a wildly overgrown part of the land that had some nasty vines and poison ivy. I had mentioned how much work that it would take me to get it done so he just took care of it. I couldn't be happier with it. Finally, a little bit of mess left behind and some tracks in the yard, but I expected that to happen and is really a minor fix. It didn't affect my rating of the provider, they did excellent work.

I left a message requesting an estimate on the work we needed in late April. Tim promptly called back that afternoon, and arranged to stop by the next day on his way between jobs. We walked the property together, and he thoughtfully questioned where our septic and well lines were located, so that he could determine what type of equipment he could bring in to work on the tree over our shed. Knowing that we were on a tight schedule & needed to minimize damage to the lawn, as we were planning to put our home on the market soon, Tim was very helpful and promised to fit us into his schedule somehow. He provided a very detailed estimate per tree, and explained just how he planned to address each one - to prevent damage to our lawn, he used ropes, pulleys and climbers rather than bucket trucks as other services proposed. It was pretty amazing to watch them take down the tree over our shed. Carefully bringing it down and straightening it as they went, a section at a time. They were very precise, professional, and fast - Time an his crew were here for about 2.5 hours, they took all the downed wood, small branches, etc. away for us, did a great clean up job, and as a team, were well coordinated - they clearly were experienced and knew what they were doing, and each of the crew seemed to have a great deal of respect for Tim - and he for them. They were a great team, and did a great job. Weather wasn't very cooperative, with rain and heavy winds arriving every time Tim put us on the schedule. He stayed in touch over the 2 weeks that passed, and assured us that as soon as the weather gave us a break, he would get things done for us. True to his word. he finished earlier than expected on another job, and the weather had cleared that afternoon, so he called and asked if he & his crew could come by, as he knew we needed to get things done quickly and had other work we needed to do that was dependent on having these trees out of the way. We are extremely pleased with the work that was done, and thrilled at the pricing and timing. Other companies we called were either booked for the entire season already, unless you were going to include other landscaping services, or they wanted to charge much more - 1 estimate was double the price that Neufell's charged, and that was just for taking down 2 trees! Others also insisted that we needed to use a crane or bucket truck on the tree over our shed and the hanging branch, though it would tear up our lawn, brick sidewalks, and part of our patio. Tim's crew did such a great job that we were able to have an open house 1.5 weeks later, and there is absolutely no damage to our lawn, patio, or walkway. We definitely will call Neufell's with any future landscaping or tree service needs here, or at our next home, and have recommended them to everyone we know.

We called several years ago in the middle of a very bad storm to schedule an appointment to remove a tree that had fallen during the storm. Shortly after, he was at the door, in the middle of the storm, to remove the fallen tree. Needless to say, we were very impressed. He's done several more fallen tree removals since then, always on time and reasonably priced.

He made appointments twice and didn’t show up. The first time he called hours after he was supposed to be here. The second time he wanted to reschedule again, but I did not want to go with him after that.

Right from the start, Tim was professional. He didn't pull a number out of thin air the way another service did. He explained exactly what needed to be done and how it would be priced, which was well below the fishing expedition of another service. Once we settled on a date, the job went very smoothly. I'm sure it would have been easier to position the crane on our lawn, but they went the extra mile and left the place in great shape. I have no hesitation recommending them.

Tim is very easy to work with. He is professional and respond the call very quickly. He came over for estimate whithin a very short period of time. The price is reasonable. His crew are very hardworking and efficient. We are satisfied with their work and will definitely use them again in the future.

The two Ash trees were dead and were located in my front side yard a few feet from the busy sidewalk and power lines. The Ash trees were surrounded by towering pines and numerous large rhododendrons, which I asked Tim to keep safe. Tim safely removed the Ash trees without harming a leaf on any of the rhododendrons, which was an amazing feat. One of the Ash trees was a combination of three trunks joined together. Given the height of these old trees, this was a big job. I found Neufell Tree and Landscape on Angie's List. Tim responded to my call immediately, dropping by my home on Saturday morning to give me a quote and patiently answering all my questions. He was very pleasant and professional and gave me a very fair price, considering the scope and challenges of the job. He set a date for removing the trees, called to remind me the day before the work began, and cut down the two trees carefully and efficiently in one day. Because the tree stumps were in a wooded area and behind a stone wall, I did not think that it was necessary to grind the stumps. However, after Tim had finished and gone home, I noticed that the stumps were higher than the stone wall and looked unsightly. I called Tim to discuss the price for grinding the two tree stumps, but he offered to return soon to saw the huge tree stumps as close to the ground as possible. He reduced the tree stumps at no extra charge and covered them with dirt and fallen pine branches, making them unnoticeable and saving me the cost of grinding two large tree stumps. Needless to say, I was extremely appreciative and happy with this solution! Given my excellent experience with Tim Neufell, I have given him the highest recommendation because he deserves it.

Tim came himself to do the estimate, and broke the cost down tree by tree as requested. He recommended the use of a crane since doing it by hand would take much longer, cost as much in labor as a crane would cost, and it'd be safer with a crane since the trees were overhanging or near the house. He explained everything thoroughly, and didn't try to sell me on additional services I didn't need. Tim promptly returned calls, and was happy to have insurance info mailed to me for verification. He and his crew showed up on time on the day they said they would, and got to work. Was surprised how quickly they got the work done, he has an efficient operation. Logs were picked up the following morning, and yard cleaned up very well. They placed plywood on the yard so the heavy machinery would not damage the yard, and it did the trick. After work was done, he happily walked around with my wife answering questions about tree varieties and the health of other trees on our property. Great experience working with Tim, would definitely call him again for any tree work we need done.

Tim is very easy to work with. He is professional, knows his business, showed up on time, and he and his crew work hard. We had 7 trees that we wanted cut down, and then split and stacked into firewood on the other side of our yard. Three of the trees were very large red oaks. They had a crane come in, cut and removed the trees while working around a shed, our house and an area of landscaping. Nothing was damaged and they cleaned up well. They chipped the branches and moved the trunks to the other side of our yard about 150 yards away. They then spent several days splitting and stacking about 8-10 cords of wood. It was a lot of work, perhaps more than they expected, but they worked hard and did a good job. All in all we are very happy with how it went.
