Flooring & Kitchen Designs of Littleton

Carpet took over 4 weeks to be be delivered- more a problem from manufacturer (Mohawk Smart strand) but not sure how much our local folks at the shop pushed to get it sooner. Installation appears to be done very well and punctual once scheduled.

Estimate was promptly scheduled.
Email quote was sent to incorrect email address, but easily obtained with telephone follow-up.
Work was scheduled quickly after 50% deposit.
Work was completed in less than two days. 
Subcontractors (Damien Floors) did not re-confirm installation prior to arrival at 9:30 AM on the day of installation and did not provide schedule for remaining work, requiring someone to remain at the house until their arrival after 11:00 AM the following day.
Poor communication between the subcontractors, Flooring and Kitchen Designs resulted in a larger than necessary and offset floor cut out for a house alarm wire. Some drips in finish marred otherwise excellent finish work.
Flooring and Kitchen designs patched hole with wood putty and provided some complementary molding replacement in compensation for inconvenience.

Owner of the store gave estimate over the phone to install 550 sq feet of vinyl flooring.    I supplied all the materials.
Original agreed upon estimate was $750 for the installation.    Owner never came out to the property nor gave me anything in writing.. big mistake on my part right there.
Owner sent a sub contractor out to do the work.    Sub contractor does all the work, and he's ok.   There was a couple of minor additions I asked for while on the job.. at best a couple of additional hours or work..   Sub-contractor says that sounds good, never mentions any additional costs at all.   
At the very end of the job the sub contractor tells me that there will be a slight up charge for a small amount of additional work that he had to do,     I figured ok..  maybe $100 or $200 for additional work.
Then I get the invoice from the owner, the bill was almost $1,800!!!     $1,000 higher than the original estimate!  2 1/2 times the original estimate!   He said the sub contractor had to additional prep work, and installed a small amount of additional flooring.
I told the owner that was insane, and I wouldn't pay $1,800.     The owner put the charges on my credit card anyways without my authorization.   He already had my credit card number, because I gave him a 50% deposit on my credit card, prior to starting the job.
The credit card company told me because I only had a verbal agreement with the company, there was nothing they could do, and I had to pay the entire $1,800.     
Essentially I got ripped off by a very unscrupulous owner.   Stay away from this company.

Second time using this team. They did another excellent job. They clean up daily, were on time and did outstanding job. Highly recommend them.
