He came on time and diagnosed the problem that the fittings weren’t tight. He tightened everything up and now no leaks.

John Silva is an experienced plumber that's fair, earnest and competent. He came through for me, during this unusually long cold spell, when other plumbers are just too busy to even return messages. After a week of unsuccessful quest for plumbing help, finally contacted John and he came out on a Saturday in spite of it being his day off. He worked diligently--even skipping lunch, repaired all the bursts, replaced and installed shutoff valves, and restored the heat and hot water with a full day of non-stop work. I'm grateful that John was available to help during my state of emergency and distress.

If there were an A+ for professionalism they would receive it. We will likely need new heating units in the future and I won't hesitate to purchase them from this company.

John was very professional and polite, and is a straight-shooter. He does good work at a reasonable price. I would definitely use him again.

They did exactly what they said they were going to do, and did a great job. Everything was on time for the price that they said. We are very happy and very satisfied with their work. We would surely use them again.

Since joining Angie’s List, I have found some great contractors and tradesmen. This evening, it occurred to me that I have yet to write a rave review for John Silva. He is the "perfect plumber." He has worked with me since 1999 and I “always” refer him to friends and family. Although I am not sure if Angie’s List existed back then, I wish that I posted this review twelve years ago! John most recently rescued me from a flooded basement and cold showers when he came first thing in the morning, shortly after I left him a message when I realized the situation with the hot water heater. By the time I came home from work, I had a brand new hot water heater with all details related to the warranty handled for me. The old hot water heater was removed by John, so I did not have to bother with arranging for a trip to the local dump. Over the years, John has helped me with a variety of plumbing tasks: installed new dishwasher, toilets, sinks, in-sink garbage disposals; changed condensation pump drain hose for A/C; replaced thermocouple in boiler; and installed frost free outside faucets. He even came and assessed my entire property (for free!) when I was trying to determine why I received a $3,600 water bill from the City of Newton. A true professional, John is so reliable and his number is being programmed into a lot of cell phones these days. It's time that I share his name and number with folks on Angie's List.
