We are relocating to the Boston area and Raveis was one of the two realtors that the relocation company referred us to. We had a long conversation with a broker in their relocation services division where we explained that we were in a hurry to find a house, that we were looking in Cambridge, and that we would only work with a Buyer Broker. The next day she assigned a salesperson to us, but in reviewing this person's web page it was clear that she was primarily (and proudly) a listing agent, that her area was Lexington and although she was originally from Cambridge she was not active there. We pointed this out by email to the relo broker and received a phone call from the agent, where she claimed that her web page had only been updated 48 hours previously 'to attract sellers as we expect a lot of houses to come on the market', and that she dealt primarily with buyers. She told us that we would not find a sales agent who worked primarily with buyers -- something she knows is not true. This ended the conversation and we asked the relocation broker to assign a new agent, and to do this quickly as we were planning to come up to look for houses the following weekend, and we had already lost time with the prior agent. She gave us the details of a new salesperson who was Cambridge-based and looked a much better fit, and told us to expect a call. But after one day she had not called us. After hearing this the relocation company that had referred us to Raveis in the first place found us another brokerage to work with. We were very disappointed with the way Raveis handled this referral.
