As promised, she returned my call within one hour and said that the lender could not provide a loan because my property is atypical. However, she was able to provide a referral with a local institution who could help. Though brief, I had a wonderful experience and was impressed with the service.
Description of Work: Although services could not be provided due to circumstances out of their control, I was given a referral to another institution who could.

 + -1 moreIt did take several months to close the loan, but that was out of Monument's control. During the process, they kept in touch with me advising of progress and needed documentation.
Description of Work: I live in a condo community that is not complete, which makes mortgaging extremely difficult. Most banks/lenders do not want to get involved with this situation. After numerous calls to banks and mortgage brokers looking to re-fi my 4.375% rate, I called Monument Mortgage as their rating on Angie's LIst was high. Monument was able to quickly find a lender and guided me through the process. Everything went smoothly thanks to the efforts of the team at Monument. And I got a great rate!

 + -1 moreIt went very smoothly, talked on the phone with Brian for about a half hour. Appraiser came and went in no time. I gathered all the papers required, sent them in, and waited until the bank was ready to close. Went in, closed, and done!
Description of Work: I worked with Brian Clancy and Lisa McNamara. They were very patient with me during my refinance. I decided to refinance about a week before having my second child. I barely had to do anything. The refinance was so great! It cost me nothing out of pocket and actually ended up giving me money in the end. I am telling all my friends about this business and I had to tell Angie's List as well! Don'ts: Don't refinance right before a major life event like having a child. Do: Go to Monument Mortgage when you have to refinance.

 + -1 moreRoger did a fantastic job. I did a lot of calling around as we were signing the P&S on our house, and he was able to give us the lowest rate and lowest closing costs. He was very easy to work with, quickly and knowledgeably responding to our many questions, over phone and email, even during non-business hours. The whole process went very smoothly. Got our mortgage commitment letter early, and were fully cleared to close early.
Description of Work: Worked with Roger Seigal to obtain a mortgage for a home we purchased.

 + -1 moreWorked with two professionals; the junior woman was terrific and did a wonderful job chasing down all the loose ends. But the senior guy (Joe Cooper) was obnoxious and rude. He did not have th etime to listen but had all the time to tell me about all the business he is doing. He could not remember even speaking with me or my wife half a dozen times. He can have all that business.....but not mine.

 + -1 moreWhen I first bought my house, I used an online lender (Quicken) who put me in a toxic interest-only loan. A friend recommended Monument and, soecially, Joe Cooper. Joe worked really hard to get me into a new mortgage that would work down the principal at a reasonable interest rate. He's very knowledgeable about credit and mortgages and took excellent care of us. I would use him again in a heartbeat and I tell everyone I know to call Joe -- he's absolutely the best mortgage broker and an honest, stand-up guy.
