They were able to work very quickly and do a good job. He had the part replaced and working in right around 30 minutes. Every time they have come out, they have always proven very competent and hard working. They don't mess around, but get the job done well and done quickly.

Our water heater pilot went out the day after Thanksgiving.  We managed to get it back on, but it kept going back off.  On a holiday weekend, very few companies even returned the call by Monday.  But Dan Sweet called back promptly.  Although he was available to come out on Saturday, we were able to get the pilot back on ourselves to get us through til Monday morning. 
On Monday morning (today) Dan came out first thing.  He discovered that our gas-fired tank water heater, which was near the end of its life, was vented in a substandard and unsafe way, and that a valve associated with the pilot lighting system was malfunctioning so that relighting the pilot was a dangerous act. 
By chance, we had been considering a new high-efficiency boiler with integrated water heater, to be done in the spring.  We already had a quote from another firm to do this job and were leaning toward going with that company in the spring.  After the water heater mishap, we asked Larry Sweet to give us a proposal to do the same kind of integrated high-efficiency boiler and hot water system, and they are very competitive.  Turns out they've installed hundreds of boilers locally in the past several years, including at our church, at the local farm, and throughout our neighborhood.  So that we don't have to rush into a boiler replacement in wintertime, and given the unsafe state of our old water heater, Sweet offered to lend us (at no cost) an electric water heater they had on hand, installing it the same day (and removing our dangerous old water heater) so that we wouldn't have to go without hot water for even one day.  They made it clear that we are under no obligation to have them install a new system, even though we are using their spare electric water heater for what could be a few months.
Larry and Dan Sweet really went way over and above to help us today.  No company could be expected to do what they did for us, and we are very grateful.  They are very personable, expert at what they do, take pride in high quality work, and they engender a high level of trust.  Not to mention they are a family-run local business that has been serving our area for 70 years.  They truly represent a different kind of company.  This is the kind of company that once you find, you don't let go.

Larry was extremely prompt, and performed a thorough inspection of the basment area he would be working in, including the best location for the dehumidifier, and where it would drain.  He then called me later that day to provide me with an estimate, and indicated he had not only researched the precise dehumidifier that would work best for my space, but also driven to Home Deport to do a price comparision.  We placed the order with him, and it was installed just three days later (and it only took that long because he had determined the best price was from a company that needed that time to deliver the unit).

He was great.. He was very timely, responsive, and professional. He fixed things and gave good advice about costs and alternatives. I would use this provider again.

I have used Larry and company for more than 20 years. Service is always first class. The scheduling is simple. Over the course of a week, the drain slowed considerably. I placed a call mid-morning and within 30-minutes, received a return call and scheduled service for the next day. At 8 AM the next morning, the truck pulled up and the drain was cleared. In addition to quality work, the crew always cleans up any water, material, and other debris .

Mr. Sweet was extremely reliable and explained exactly what our problems were. He was very thorough and made sure that everything was working correctly before he left. Since then we haven't had any issues.

There were a couple of miscommunications on both of our parts as to the time of the appointment but they were very courteous and thorough when they arrived. A bit on the high side, price wise, nonetheless they were incredibly thorough. The clean up was incredible and they were wonderful to deal with. I had complete confidence that all the work was completed up to code and with attention to detail without shortcuts. Quality work. Good guys and a nice family company.

It went extraordinarily well. Larry spent a very long time talking options with us. He explained in detail the steps we needed to take, what he could do. He did an amazing amount of things that was not required for him to do, without charge. He took care of our family while the boiler was being replaced so we wouldn't be left out in the cold. His work was top quality, and his charge was extremely affordable. He came under his estimate that he had offered to us. His bill was detailed and easily understood. He consistently responds to questions and requests for help extremely quickly. We absolutely plan to use him for any and all plumbing and heating needs that we have.

Larry Sweet and son Dan have been the only plumbing service we have used since 1994. They have provided consistently prompt, excellent service' always show up on time, friendly, great work - I can't say enough positive things about them! (And they don't even mind my slightly annoying dog).

He is excellent. He was the only plumber I used between 2003 and 2008 and he came whenever there was an issue. I thought he was terrific. When the builder started work on our house in 2008, they had their own sub-contractors for the plumbing. When we first moved to Lexington, we had an old snowman boiler and we had to remove that and put a new one in. We had a terrible plumber do the job because we didn't know anybody in the area. Lawrence Sweet actually fixed what the other guy had not installed correctly. The thing that I really like about him which is a problem with plumbers is that he calls me back that day. He calls me back even if he can't come that day. It's a family run business and now his son has taken it over. I would use him in the future if needed.

The quality of work and the material used were both excellent. They were the most professional people I have ever worked with, and Larry is a sub-contractor for us too. One time he works for you and he is on your team. One time I had a problem with my water heater and they came over and fixed it. Another time I had blocking problems with the sewer and he came right away.

He has very high standards. Extraordinarily responsive!

They went over and above. They discovered that the original installation was not done well and they secured it properly. The first faucet they brought I wasn't crazy about the loose way, that it sat at the sink. They researched better options and let me choose which one I wanted. This took about 3 visits and I was very happy with my choice. On the boiler cleaning; it was a very thorough job of flushing it and cleaning the parts. They replaced anything worn parts. Again, they went above the usual service. The Father and Son are so great- I can't say enough good things about them. I found out about them from another company well rated on Angie's List. Quality seems to flock to quality.

I am pleased with the job they did. They were very professional throughout the entire job. The quality of work was what I expected it to be. They were punctual and very responsive to me and the job they did for me. I would rather not disclose the price.

Answered my call immediately, came by to check, had new water heater within an hour, installed in two hours (gas). The nicest people I have ever had in our home.

Timely arrival as usual, and an efficient repair job. The kitchen faucet (Delta) needed to be repaired so that the spray gizmo worked. The dishwasher drain hose had a leak - the leaky section was replaced and the hose re-routed to comply with current codes.

I was very pleased that Tom responded to my initial call the same day, and was able to schedule the work for 2 days later.
