An American product made right and affordable!
We bought 7 registers (vent covers) made of casted aluminum with a rubbed oil-bronze finish. I couldn't be more pleased with the color and quality for the value. The covers are used in our living room and dining room floors. We looked at dozens and dozens of different websites, vendors, and styles of vent covers but there were several key things that made us choose Reggio Register:
1. We were dealing directly with the manufacturer.
2. Their communication and customer service are top notch. Because we were putting in hardwood floors and moving the vent openings at the same time, I had very specific questions and concerns. It was very easy for me to call Reggio on a couple of occasions and discuss the specifications of the vents before the hardwood contractor started work. Because of that - the job went flawlessly.
3. The designs of the vents are different than most vents in that they have lips on the underside that help align the vents squarely with the vent boots. This saved a lot of time and frustration installing the vents. Also the vents came with easy installation instructions describing the drill bit size to drill the pilot holes for screws so you don't split the hardwood.
4. Lastly, their quality really shines through. The baked on enamel finish is durable, and the vents are weighty even though they are made of aluminum.
I installed the vents myself, and a few days later my hardwood installer came by and was impressed. He had been trying to sell me wooden vents through his vendor. But after one look he said "Wow, it was a much better choice to go with those metal vents. They look great. Can you tell me who makes them because I need to start offering them to my clients?"
As we continue updating our house, I will continue to use them.
