Initially, I had called in October for a problem with my oven that didn't seem to be heating quickly enough or holding temperature. I called well in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday, knowing they would be busy approaching the holiday. After not getting a return call, we called again, and a time for a service call was arranged. The service person was prompt, but but the problem was not solved. Parts needed to be ordered, understandably. As the holiday approached, we called regularly to check in on the parts, without our calls returned. I finally stopped in the store personally, and was escorted to the back where the service office was located. It was finally determined my parts were in, but they had no time to install them prior to Thanksgiving, because they had other customers. This left me with a non-functioning over to make the holiday dinner for a houseful of anticipated guests. Eventually, the parts were installed, but the problem still wasn't solved. It was a regular occurrence to call and leave messages, and not get calls back. Christmas came and went without resolution. The oven was not repaired fully until the spring. In the meantime, two burners on the new stove also ceased to function. We were able to combine service calls on both, but the Henry's truck was in my driveway several times before things were fixed correctly.
It was eventually determined that the problem with the stove actually was an electrical service problem with the house. In trying to remedy the situation, we spent hundreds on parts and repeated servicing. As experienced as they are supposed to be, not only with appliances but also as electricians, I find it hard to believe that they didn't suspect the true source of the problem earlier.
In the meantime, the Bosch dishwasher that they had steered me to also developed a recurring issie where it would just stop and not start. Eventually, I would get a terse response from the service manager, and service calls were made, for which I was charged. When the same problem happened yet again, and not wanting to deal with the service department yet again, In frustration, I called another company that services Bosch in my area. They quickly found the problem. They indicated that the installation of the machine (done by Henry's) was uneven, an was tripping a feature that was designed to prevent the unit from flooding. It was a pretty easy thing to fix, but Henry's had come out a couple of times to fix it, charging me each time.
The problem took a turn for the ridiculous when I the light in my refrigerator burned out, and I stopped in the store to order a replacement. I was fairly sure it was just a bulb....easy, quickly, and inexpensive to fix. Instead, I was told that the unit was under recall as an imminent fire hazard. They came out to disconnect the light pretty quickly, but again it took weeks until the replacement light was installed, again after I had to call them over and over over the course of several weeks to see if the part was received. At least they are consistent. Because it was a recall, I was not charged for service.
Since then, drawers in the refrigerator have broken on their tracks, the icemaker disabled itself, and the markings and indicators on the knobs on the stove have worn off. I refuse to try to replace them or to give this business another dime.
Getting service from this place is a nightmare. They are really good at standing with hands on hips and saying they will have to order parts. They put off local people in favor of servicing affluent second home owners. The service manager gets quite rude with people. This is after being steered into purchasing higher end products that are actually inferior to less expensive counterparts. Clearly they are making money from repeated service calls.
Two years after purchasing the dishwasher, I went to another local dealer and got another less expensive machine which has not had so much as a hiccup of a problem. I was delighted to watch them haul the Bosch away. I can't wait until I can afford to do likewise with the stove and refrigerator.
