Description of Work: My mother had ALS and was having a hard time getting in and out of the shower, even with help. I called Lift and Care and someone came to my mother's house. The consultant was very professional and kind. He was very patient with my mother and not at all pushy.

Description of Work: My mother is temporarily confined to a wheelchair after breaking her pelvic bone. She desperately wanted to return home after rehab, but we needed to get a ramp up fast when we were told she would be released in less than a week. I called three places about installing a wheelchair ramp on short notice, and Ellen called me right back. David, the owner, met me that afternoon and they shifted their schedule around and installed it the next day! The ramp was a challenge to install in front of our old farmhouse on a hill, but in a few hours we had a sturdy, safe way to get Mom home again. At 96 years old, it meant the world to her.

Description of Work: We are putting in a handicap lift from Lift and Care Systems, inc., on the inside of the house. There is another contractor who is preparing it before the lift goes in. Lift and Care actually subcontracted them as well as the electrician and plumber. They have to cut between two floors and cut a shaft for the elvator to go in so it can be functional. It is not a full elevator, but is fully enclosed. They also had to put in footings in the basement.
