When I came to Angie's List to review Steve Waxberg, I was stunned to find a low rating for him under bathroom remodeling. This is very much in contrast to our experience, which was not only extremely positive, but was the exact opposite of everything in the prior review I read. This entry reviews the second time he has done work in our house. I didn't post a review of Steve's work for the first time, because he was a subcontractor and I did not know what his work cost. The contractor for our basement remodeling, Coral Construction, dragging out the estimated three month project for an entire year, with the quality continually slipping. The only exception was Waxberg Tile. We had a combination of glass and matte porcelain tiles, a delicate shower floor installation, and marble thresholds. I have attached a photo of the result (a much more complicated project than this one), in which he went above and beyond to make the tile installation perfect. Months later, the floor Coral put down buckled and we had to pull it up. We hired a great flooring company for replacement engineered flooring, but decided to tile two areas. Of course, we called Steve. And again, the work was great. Everything was done exactly to spec. There were many more bad places on the floor than he had originally expected, forcing him to essentially pound out, pour and level most of the floor by the stairs that he was tiling. He still was completed on time, with no compromises. Overall, we find Steve to be the consummate professional. He is passionate about tiling as a craft, and a true perfectionist.
