Dennis came in and gave an accurate description of what he could do for us based on our needs. He and his team were on-time and also flexible with adjustments we wanted to make with our design. They took all precautions for Covid and were very good at cleaning up at the end of each day. We were also given plenty of advance as to making sure delivery of our bathroom components were on-time so the project went smoothly. Dennis also took time to explain what was being done for the day and what next steps were going to be taken during the project, we were never left in the dark. We love our new bathroom and we highly recommend Carpentry Construction!

Dennis was quick to reply, offered a fair price, and completed the job when he said he would. While I suspect the quality of work is also excellent, the test of time will be the best way to tell. This was a very easy process from start to finish. I'll be working with Dennis again in the future.

When our previous contractor opted to retire, our painter recommended Dennis Howes.  Since then, Dennis and his team of experienced carpenters have completed several projects for us, most recently replacing the siding and windows on the rear of our house.  All of the work was professional, on time, and reasonable priced.  Dennis is accessible, and his team is easy to work with.  This referral turned out very well for us, and we plan to use Dennis Howes Carpentry for any future home repair needs.

Dennis came for estimate, started work soon after and Rick is nearing completion.  Very efficient, responsive, pleasant and showed up on time.

Dennis was very prompt at coming out to provide an estimate. He literally came over within an hour of calling him.
Two days later, he and another person came by in the morning and fixed the siding as good as new (actually better because it was originally incorrectly installed) and the price was awesome.

Friendly, professional, and responsive is what I've come to expect from Carpentry Construction. Dennis and his crew came to repair a sagging and weather worn garage roof. The job was done over 2 days. The inner frame which had been poorly constructed was reinforced and supports were added, then new plywood and roofing were installed. The work area was spotless after completion. They even managed to keep debris out of my garden. Well done!

All the work was completed in an excellent timely manner.  Everything fits, everything works and everything looks great.  Dennis is exceptionally skilled and diligent and does all that is needed in terms of planning with the customer to make sure we're all on the same page and that the job is done to perfection.  Add to that that he is personable, friendly and easy to contact during the work via text, email and cell phone.  We give him our highest recommendation.

Dennis Howes is an excellent carpenter and an honest businessman. I've hired Dennis for a number of small jobs and I've always found him to be responsive and professional, even for minor fix it jobs. I'm not very handy myself and when I recently purchased a new washing machine that was slightly larger than the doorway to my laundry room, I put a call in to Dennis. He came right over, explained my options and took action. Dennis removed the trim and door frame to my laundry room, even helped me move the washer, and then put it all back together like it never even happened. That's service. 
In the near future I plan to have Dennis repair some rotted trim and replace the roof on my garage as well. Dennis is my go-to guy for all my carpentry and home renovation needs.

The project has been a resounding success, I could not be happier with my custom built 2100 sq ft cottage. There was never a day where the appropriate crew did not show up promptly and work diligently. Every one of my neighbors on the lake commented on how well and quickly the job progressed; always commenting on the attention to detail and craftsmanship of the work. Acting as general contractor Mr. Howes made many decisions in the field, stayed in constant communication with me and left no option unexplored. This project was difficult due to the proximity to a lake, and reservation land, interaction with the conservation and town boards and the stipulation that the new house must conform to the previous footprint of the house that was destroyed by fire. Mr. Howes remained characteristically calm and positive when presented with the inevitable unforeseen obstacles, always exploring alternatives and creative solutions until the job was done. The end result is an exquisite and much admired custom built house with which I am extremely pleased and proud to own.

I am extremely pleased with the work performed by Dennis Howes Carpentry & Construction.  Despite  an unexpected delay from my end in closing on the house, Dennis worked long hours above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that I had a functioning bathroom when I moved in on schedule. The majority of work was performed while I was in residence and I was impressed with how accommodating all of the workmen were and the high level of communication throughout the process. You could not ask for a friendlier crew. The house is quite old and there were unexpected surprises behind every wall! Nothing phased this group, no grumbling, no exorbitant extras...any and all issues were taken in stride and with good humor.  I was informed daily who would be coming, when, and what the next steps were throughout the project. It was very well choreographed and Dennis assembled a very talented group of master craftsman and professionals; all of whom took as much pride in their work as Dennis himself. I am very happy with the work and will continue to employ Dennis for any and all future construction projects.

We had water damage due to ice dams and needed the drywall replaced in our bathroom and mouldings/trim above our kitchen cabinets. Dennis did an amazing job. His finish carpentry work is beautiful. He had to retrim the window and the baseboads in the bath and also added trim moulding under my new countertop and above the cabinets and it's perfect. Dennis was professional and punctual. His estimate to start and finish the project was spot on. He was meticulous with cleanup. I couldn't tell he was there. Even the subcontractor he brought in to repaint everything in my kitchen and bath was fantastic. I also had him come back to replace two windows on the second floor. Again, the finish carpentry work is flawless and the rooms were clean when he finished. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for carpentry/remodeling projects. I have a few other projects already in mind for him.

I requested an estimate and Dennis examined the house, actually got up on the roof and then spoke with us regarding the type of roof we had in mind, the kind of shingle, even the color.  He provided an estimate within a day or two.  We got several other estimates which were comparable and decided to go with Dennis because of some structural work he did on our house ten years ago that came out great, as well as a variety of jobs he had done in the past at my place of employment that were also completed very professionally.

Dennis and his crew did a great job.  Beautifully done really, and he was invariably very responsive to all the questions we asked along the way.  He is really nice man to work with, (his crew was great too), calm, thorough and from my perspective, exceptionally skilled in all aspects of the work.  The roof, the replacement siding, the painting all done really well, top quality.

Great work crew! They didn't just replace the wood, they improved the appearance by adding nice decorative touches too. When they replaced the wood around the garage doors, they also added weather stripping where none had been previously. They put flashing in places where none had been to reduce the possibility of rot in the future. They cleaned up well after the job was completed. I am going to have an extensive redesign of my master bath and will have them do it.

I left the whole job to Dennis - choosing window type & manufacturer to finish & paint inside & out. Finished on time, on budget and cleaned the rooms of dust & dirt.

He is a carpenter by trade. He does high quality at a reasonable price.
