- Contacted Nick Yacovone approx June 28th to get a quote to pave a gravel parking area next to our current driveway. Acme's quote was the most expensive, but Nick came across as both professional and competent. He listened to what we wanted and delivered on time and on the agreed upon price that he quoted. His crew was respectful of our property and cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend him to my family, friends and or neighbors.
On the day of the job his team showed up on time and went right to work. He had a pretty large crew with him and each person did their job well. they proceeded quickly with the breakdown of the old driveway, excavating of the new layout and then the laying of the asphalt and milling. As the team was removing a section of grass for the extended width of the new driveway, I asked Steve if he would mind taking some of dirt and putting it in a large hole that was located in my backyard. Not only did he do this for me, a few of his crew went as far as to pat down and level out the dirt - something I assumed I would have to do. This 'extra' was much appreciated and reflected his company's true character. It was a muggy, buggy morning and the team went about their business without a hitch. I have a tremendous amount of respect for them, what they do and the ability to do so in those types of conditions.
When I arrived home to see the finished product, I was extremely impressed and satisfied. All the small details I was concerned about were handled flawlessly, including lining the new driveway up directly in line and snug against my concrete patio; having the driveway and milling flush with the grass lines, the slight downward pitch of the borders of the driveway and the milling work altogether. Likewise, the job was left with no signs that a crew had been there that day other than the new work!
I must say that would not hesitate to hire Steve and his company if a future need arises, and advise you of the same. It was very refreshing to deal with a contractor that is honest, up front, professional, and handles his business with no games being played around scheduling and delivery of services. And his price for the job? Very reasonable and well worth it. The fact that his company accepts credit card payment was one of the original reasons I went with Steve and ACME, and that convenience fortunately resulted in the hiring of a company whose work is top notch.
