Horrible. The gave a quote, got the contract, showed up and cut half of the tree then the owner said he would not finish the job unless we paid him double. When we showed him the signed contract he said he didn’t care. We said no to paying more and he left the tree half cut, ruined my lawn and left the cut branched and big tree stumps all over my lawn and told me to sue him and left. The story is much worse so this is a short version. I would not recommend them!

Horribly. His employer Sharon called and came out to my property after my Angi’s inquiry into tree removal services. She took pictures of the trees to be removed and told me she would show those to the owner and send me an estimate. I told her I already had an estimate for $3200 and she said she would try to match it. She then sent me a full contract for $3200 with a diagram of the tree locations. I agreed and she said they would schedule for October 13 contact me on the day. On October 13th, people had begun cutting one side of the tree without knocking on the door or informing us they are starting the job. After having made a mess, the owner came to me saying he will not finish the job unless I paid him more money as the estimate was too low. I told him if he had a problem with the price his company gave us, he should have called previously or knocked on my door today to discuss before starting the job and making a mess in my yard. He said he did not care and he thought the job was less. I told him you are holding the diagram of the trees to be cut so how did you think the job was less? He said he will not do it and left, leaving a mess in my yard with the branches he had cut off and refused to clean up.

I read the reviews, obtained a couple of price quotes for the work and made my decision. I hired Treescapes Cape Cod, Inc. to take down 6 trees in my yard. They showed up at the appointed time and got right to work. They tackled the biggest tree first. After cutting most if it down, the work stopped. 5-6 guys suddenly standing around doing nothing. Manny, the on-site fellow running the job, approached me to let me know that the price quoted wasn’t going to be enough to get the job to the finish line. It was going be an additional $1,000 to complete the job. So, faced with the prospect of a partially cut tree and a yard full of the cuttings, or to pony up an extra $1,000, I paid. It wasn’t right what Treescapes did. And I shoulda told them to take a hike. What I discovered later is that the company was recently sold. I’m told that Manny is the new owner. So, all the wonderful reviews that I read online aren’t reflective of the way the company is run today. The moral of the story, if you want to jacked up after receiving a price quote, hire Treescapes Cape Cod. Otherwise, maybe consider hiring a different company, or an off cape company when you need work done on the Cape. It’s still no guarantee that business will be conducted properly, but I think the odds are better that it will.

Excellent Experience. I needed to have roughly 10-12 medium size pine trees removed from my property and contacted Treescapes. Mr Merlesena and I met and discussed which trees were in fairly rough shape and really needed to be removed. We walked through my property and marked the target trees. I provided Mr. Merlesena a deposit and paid the remaining amount when the job was completed. In fact prior to his team arriving for the job a tree broke loose a bit and was leaning against another. The Treescapes team promptly made a stop just to remedy that issue before it fell toward the house. I do need a few more trees removed and will be interacting with Treescapes once again to help me out. I highly recommend Treescapes if you need tree service.

Had to have The job done within a certain timeframe. Approximately a dozen people showed up two trucks and was done within six hours. They did all that was asked of them and cleaned up very well after themselves

John and his crew are awesome. Within a week he responded to our request for a proposal, reviewed the property and did the job. While on the job, he recommended removing several other trees that were not doing well. The price was more than fair. The work was done when he said it would be done and the communication was consistent and clear. No surprises with the work or the bill. We would not hesitate to Treescapes for future work.

They were incredible!! Totally wonderful to work with. Left my yard looking great. In addition to asking for certain trees to be taken down John recommended other work to be done and he was so right. Four different crews performed this work at four different times. The first three crews were excellent. They took town two trees, ground the stumps and removed the wood. The fourth crew was another matter. First of all, there were communication problems. The first crew should have removed the deadwood from the third trees, but they didn't necessitating the need for a visit by a four crew. I had to call to find out what was going on with this part of the project. The company sent an army to do a relatively small job, and in so doing, ran into a planter by the side of the driveway, and dug up a recently seeded, sprinklered area along the side of the driveway with the tires from their bucket truck. They did their best to put everything back together again. They nearly smashed the planter, but thankfully, it survived. If they had talked to me before they had started work, we could have avoided these problems. While their bid was the lowest of three I received, and I would use them again, I would want to talk to them before having them come on my property again.

I got three bids for the job and while they were not the cheapest I felt their professionalism made them the best choice. They were only able to complete 2/3 of the job back during the December visit and had to come back to finish the job. They did it in mid-March. The wait was due to weather, vacations and such which was not a bother. They did a great job and cleaned up our yards very nicely. I would definitely use them again.

Martin came the day after I called Treescapes to give me an estimate which he completed and presented on his first visit. It was the best of three estimates so I immediately committed and the trees were removed 2 days later! Martin was professional as well as all of the men. It was an amazingly fast and stress free process which was fantastic.

John arrived at my house, to give me an estimate, the day after I called him. He was curteous, profession and quite low-keyed.
Trees capes was only one of five tree service companies I received estimates from. Estimates ranged from a low of $1500, to a high of $3900. I strongly advise anyone to get multiple estimates before committing to a tree service. Of the three lowest estimates, all very close, I chose Treescapes primarily because of John's demeanor.
Five guys arrived on the day scheduled, felled all six trees, cleaned up, and left my yard looking neat and clean. The entire crew was very professional and courteous. A few days later, understandably delayed due to the New Year, the stumps were ground to below grade.
Would I recommend Treescapes? ... absolutely. Would I hire them again? ... certainly.

After a bad winter storm, a large pine tree fell taking down the power line to my house. Without getting into the details, NSTAR only took care of shutting the power off and would not take responsibility for the tree clean up nor rehanging the power line. I obtained several tree removal quotes via Angie's List, and it came down to Treescapes and another company. Not knowing either, I flipped a coin and went with the other company. That proved to be a mistake as they never showed up. I then called John of Treescapes and he rearranged his schedule to come out the next day. Treescapes showed up with about 6 professionals who proceeded to take care of the cleanup (and resolution of future problem trees/limbs) which was partly done with a bucket truck, and where the truck was unable to go due to a large raised septic field a guy climbed several trees with a chain saw and amazingly did the removal limb by limb. Most of the trees were chipped and taken away, but per my request some of the hardwood was cut up to fireplace size logs which I kept for burning later on. Despite my frustrations with the storm, NSTAR and the other tree company, hiring Treescapes proved to be the one pleasant experience overall.
