"To Mr. and Mrs. [Member Name Removed] With all due respect, I have to admit that upon reading your review I find myself baffled, dumbfounded and disappointed by your comments. While I welcome any feedback, positive or negative, I do take issue with your unsupported, unjustified, and slanderous attacks on my personal character and my business management skills. At no point before, during or after the project have we treated you with anything but respect and courtesy. We have gone above and beyond to make sure that your project got done in a timely manner and within you extremely tight budget, despite all the delays, extra work, and changes made by you. And as I recall, once the project was complete you shook our hands, thanked us, hugged and kissed us, and even invited us to your housewarming party, along with my dog Duke (who was "welcome on your property any time"). However, once you received your final authorized and agreed upon extras invoice, all of the sudden I became a racist, misogynistic extortionist. That being said, I do not wish to turn this into a lengthy combative response, I would like to assure any potential customers that there are two sides to every story, and I would like to encourage you to read all our other 25 A-rated reviews, as they speak for themselves, including the review from Mr. and Mrs. [Member Name Removed] dated 08/30/2016. So, in conclusion, it is unfortunate that our relationship ended on this note and it was certainly not our intention to end it this way, as our goal is to keep customers for life. We would like to thank our potential customers for taking the time to read this response and our other reviews."

"To our current and potential customers, As the owner/operator of IHS, I felt compelled to respond to the review above by [Member Name Removed] , as it is the only negative review IHS has received on Angie's List to date. [Member Name Removed] was referred to IHS by his neighbor, who happened to be a satisfied Angie's List customer. I told [Member Name Removed] that I would meet with him for a free Estimate. Unfortunately, the day of the meeting, the minor roofing project I had scheduled for an existing customer turned into an emergency situation that required my immediate attention. I ended up spending most of that day on the roof without access to my phone. When I did get back to my phone, I had 3 missed calls from [Member Name Removed] (not 15, as mentioned in his review). I offered a heartfelt apology to [Member Name Removed], explained to him that as owner/operator I do my best to keep my existing customers happy, and offered to reschedule it for another day. [Member Name Removed] followed up with an email full of threats and personal attacks that genuinely made me question if he sent it to me by mistake. Missing the FREE Estimate meeting, apologizing for it, and asking to reschedule simply did not warrant the language, or the threats [Member Name Removed] resorted to. At IHS we have always welcomed feedback from our customers, as it has helped us grow and become better at servicing our customers' needs over the years. We have worked tirelessly for the past 5 years to build a great reputation with our Angie's List customers. That effort has resulted in our overall A rating and 20+ positive reviews. These are all reasons why it was so upsetting to see somebody who did not find us through Angie's List, did not have us do any work for him, somebody we have not even met with, and who openly threatened via email to destroy our business reputation has an ability to give us an "F" rating without offering any recourse. While [Member Name Removed] is perfectly entitled to sharing his version of the events, I would like to assure any potential customers that the review above is not indicative of how we treat our customers, nor is it accurate in its description of what actually took place. I have tried to reason with [Member Name Removed] to no avail, which is why I am addressing my response to the current and potential customers instead. I have contacted Angie's List to challenge the validity of the review due to its malicious and dishonest nature. It is my understanding that the review might not be removed. In which case, I encourage you to read all of our reviews prior to making your decision on whether you would choose us for your project. I also encourage you to contact us directly, so you can experience for yourself the level of commitment, personal attention, and respect we have for our customers.
