Emerald Physicians Services

What is going on with Emerald. They keep losing doctors which is never a good sign. My husband is on his 3rd dr in 4 years and I just found out that the 2nd doctor I've gone to is leaving so I'll be on my 3rd also. Blood work is convenient and they run on time but doctors are so far behind that it's ridiculous. They don't listen when you talk to them so you are apt to get tests or rx that you really don't need. I've had enough; time to look off Cape for a Primary.

Each visit  I waited 30-45 minutes to be called (from the time of my scheduled appt) , and then another 10-20 min before i actually saw the doctor!  I was never alone with the doctor, there was always an nurse in there too, taking notes, which i found very unnerving-- I've never gone to a physcian and not been alone with them to speak privately. In addition they had me come in for appts that were completely unneccessary (one was a followup for an appt that they had failed to make for me (which they said they would)--so i thought i was going in for the first appt about the matter, and they said "oh, this is the followup appt. Didn't anyone ever schedule the other one for you?  Oh, well, you'll have to come back. Sorry"  And see above for how much time i had to wait at all these appts. Not to mention the $30 co-pay and the time i had to take off work )

They're easy to get an appointment with. They take new patients all of the time, so that's great.

She has a wonderful bedside manner.  She never rushes through the appointment, reviews everything well with me, listens patiently to all of my questions or concerns and makes very thorough recommendations.  I will continue to see her.

The physician and his assistant were helpful and efficient.  They answered all my questions and gave me a printout of the visit.

I have been using them for a few years now. They are organized and on time. The people there are nice too.

I have found being a patient at Emerald like a revolving door.  I have had three physicians within a year and only once was I notified that a physician had left and I would be assigned to another one.  On my latest trip, I had not been advised at all that my treating physician had left and was informed I would now be seen by a stranger who didnt bother introducing herself, conducting a thorough examination, explaining to me any course of treatment or what the potential diagnoses could be.  I was out on the street after the "examination" without any clue as to how soon a referral for an examination by a gastroenterologist would be.  I waited a week then called.  No referral had been made and, apparently, there was no notation on my file that my current problem was serious.  Apparently not to the doc in the box who saw me.
I had originally wound up at Emerald because of a specific doctor who came highly recommended and was, in fact, quite good.  She didnt last any significant time and neither did her replacement.  Now, I am left without any treating physician, scrounging to find a competent doctor who can provide me with appropriate care in a decent manner.
I would NEVER recommend Emerald Physicians to anyone.

He does a really good job for me. Very detail oriented and lets you know exactly what is going on.  Great bedside manner.

Emerald Physicians have a lot of doctors there and there's always someone available.

They're cooperative of doctors. You can see any of the doctors...modern and convenient. They all have computer, practitioners, doctors and emergency. They have all the information and they can assess you when your legal doctor is not available.

Best and most complete physical I have ever had. Great communication skills. Does a great job of explaining everything that is talked about.

Emerald Physicians can do it all. They have phlebotomists on staff, so you don't have to drive elsewhere for blood work. You can get your labs done same time as your visit. Office hours and locations are very convenient. The nurse practitioners are excellent, especially Deb Landry who took the time to thoroughly listen, research, order tests and figure out what was wrong. They provide many services -- can do EKG, EMG, bone density scan, nutritionist on staff (met with her , she was excellent), etc. etc. I can no longer go to Emerald because my insurance changed and they do not take my plan. It would be nice if they took Commonwealth Care. The only other complaint is that their electronic medical records are not linked in with the Cape Cod Healthcare medical records (online with the hospital) so if you end with a specialist on the CCH system, fax or bring your records and copy of blood labs.

So far they have been very professional. I have only seen the doctor once or twice.

They were very quick and professional.  Everywhere else that I went, there was an extremely long wait.  They got me in within a week and was very happy with them.

Always well. The Doctor takes time to listen and respond to your questions and concerns. The doctor always reviews and discusses your blood tests. Great organization. Not greedy. Totally dedicated professionals.
