This clown is a real hack - Used him to rebuild 16 X 14 deck in 2012. Town building inspector found a number of problems with his work- inspector told me not to pay Rickard till issues corrected. Come 2016 having a carpenter replace sliding door off deck - more of Rickard's crappy work shows  up. Rickard had raised deck flooring level - why I don't know - so this hack

Rickard ran a skill saw the length of the deck to cut wall shingles and sliding door trim to accommodate new deck height. The nit whit Rickard  cut too deep penetrating ice and water shield and cut into siding allowing water to rot siding. Rickard's incompetence

is costing me plenty

DO NOT USE THE GUY - HE'S A REAL WOOD BUTCHERING HACK

Eric cut corners on the job-set deck support post into concrete-set support posts directly on concrete-used aluminum flashing with pressure treated lumber-did not lap joint support posts-set downspout on to house at an angle not straight up and down-used blocking and shims to correct height of deck support posts.
When some of the above issues were pointed out to Eric he tried to blow me off.  I had to call in Pembroke building inspector.
Inspector found the same problems I did plus a few more.
Inspector suggested that Eric fix the problems if he wanted to get paid.
Eric fixed all the problems inspector found.
I for one am too busy to babysit contractors that I pay good money-could not use ever again
Response from Rickard Construction
"[member name removed] refused to pay me and used religious slurs while I was trying to fulfill his questions. I called the building inspector and met with him to satisfy [member name removed] questions. I was told I built a good deck. He wanted me to replace standard aluminum l flashing with plastic flashing. I accommodated his request. Everything else was done according to code and beyond. Eric Rickard"
