I picked Nilton Freitas and his Primo Irrigation based on strong Angie's List reviews. I liked that he is mid-sized, not too small and not corporate, and also that he supports community teams. That judgment proved correct.
Nilton responded the same day to my phone inquiry, came a day or two later to provide a quote, and he explained the options clearly. He was able to fit in the job a few days later. It turned out to take more time than he expected due to roots, but he did not charge more. He used top-quality components. One evening he stayed late on his own after letting his crew knock off.
A few days into using the new system, we needed a couple of adjustments. Nilton came the next day, swapped a couple of spray heads and adjusted others. He also explained some details of the new control panel, and advised on best watering times and frequency.    
Six weeks later, our lawn has been transformed. Much thicker and more even.
It was a great experience working with Primo Irrigation and Nilton. I would strongly recommend him, without reservation.

They did a big job. Compared to the other guys I've used, these guys were unbelievable. I never looked on Angie's List; I just got referred to them from a friend. Their excellent quality, honest and fair pricing, attention to detail and cleanliness stood out for me.

I needed to split an existing irrigation zone into two zones and install 2 new sprinkler heads in the new zone at the far edge of the yard. I have an annual contract with a large company and their estimate to do the job was $875. The work didn't seem worth that much so I called around to a few other irrigation companies to get competitive bids.
Nilton from Primo arrived to provide an estimate exactly when he said he would. His estimate of $500 was a considerable savings from my usual company and Nilton said he could do the work the following week. He was not bothered that I wanted a detailed explanation of how the work would be done.
Nilton called the morning of the promised day to say he would be an hour later than planned. He and his crew arrived at the revised time and worked until they were done despite the late hour. The charge was as expected despite a few unforeseen difficulties with tree roots and the severing of a legacy irrigation line. . I was happy with the work and the crew's dedication as well as the cleanup.

I called on Monday, and they came two days later and did an excellent job. They spent about one and a half hour installing two more sprinkler heads. They had to dig through a rough area where there are many rocks and roots, and left the yard nice and clean when they were done. This is a contrast to my previous service company(a much larger landscape company), which made me waited for more than a month after I called for service. I will definitely use this service again in the future. They are professional, courteous, and real honest and hard working people.

Small company but good guys. They're efficient and I know one of the guys pretty well. He's the one that typically comes to the house. Very trustworthy. I can let him in the house and not have to worry about him. I have no negative comments about them.

The job was exactly what we expected. Very professional company with owners that care about a job well done.
The Primo team came out and assessed the property and we discussed our plan for the lawn and our horse pastures.
We were sick of having to hand water and deal with the return of crab grass year after year, despite weed and feed, sod replacement, seed replacement etc. So we decided that if we wanted a beautiful lawn, we would have to install an irrigation system.
The job entailed digging ditches, laying underground pipe and irrigation nozzles and misters in 10 different zones on the property.
Since we have a well, they recommended that we give the well a chance to fill in between zone times (it runs sequentially).
The process took 2.5 days and no stone was left unturned (literally). They had to remove paving stones, dig around septic and well systems as well as perform some electrical work for the control box.
I would not hesitate to recommend or have them perform additional installs at my property.
