Minuteman Leafguard

Very frustrating experience start to finish.  Had a great experience with the sales rep until we learned midway through installation that she sold us a bill of goods that the company could not deliver upon (in addition to the Leafguard gutters, we were promised and paid for copper lined wood gutters on one section of the house).  

Scheduling the installation was a huge headache from the start.  I had limited schedule constraints which I made known from the start but the company disregarded.  The schedule availability that we were led to believe they had at the time of the sales appointment was far less than actuality.  

The first day the installation crew showed up, one of the guys got sick in our yard.  The second time they showed up, things were going smoothly until it came out that they didn't know about the copper lined gutters in the front of the house that we had paid for and that were written on the order.  Then it turned out the Leafguard gutters didn't fit in another section of the house.  I don't blame the crew for any of it - they were very professional and did the best they could.  The front office however was another story.   Getting call-backs from the office was exceedingly difficult and required excessive phone calls in order to get any answers to questions.  

Ultimately after numerous phone calls and some shouting, I got a refund for the services they were unable to deliver (which I had to trek to Costco to pick up...) but Minuteman Leafguard was no help in finding another provider.  That said, the Leafguard gutters that were installed successfully however look good and are of good quality.  

The biggest disappointment I have ever had from anyone on AngiesList. Very aggressive salesman but I cannot object to that. i didn't have to give him a down payment on the spot and regret having done so. This knowledgeable sales rep declined to tell me that I would need to contact the electric company to send a jumbo bucket truck to take down the electric cables coming into the house in order for the work crew to make the installation. That was hint #1 that this is a sales-driven, not customer focused organization.

When they finished the work I noticed debris on the roof, and rusty metal hooks from the old gutters on the lawn. I don't have a big ladder or would have cleaned off the rooftop myself. I sent pictures in and they came by to clean up. That leftover debris was hint #2.

This summer, first summer since they installed, my AC conked out. I had to pay for a service call from the HVAC company. They told me the problem was that the AC pipe that takes the condensation out of the house and, theoretically, into the gutters, was not connected to the new gutters. The installation crew ignored that requirement and, consequently, the water backed up into the system and that activated a floating kill switch of some kind. (You learn a lot of science when you hire Minuteman.) The AC guy suctioned out the blockage and now it is okay--for now. Had the water flowed out of the new gutter there would not have been an issue with the AC.

I checked and noticed that the water was not discharging from one of the downspouts---some kind of blockage was backing it up, hence the water coming over the sides of my 'fully guaranteed' Leaf Guard gutters. I called them four times for a service call. Finally reached them and a manager there said he tried to reach me. I had no record of that on my cellphone--but maybe he did. They finally sent a repairman over--he didn't want to ascend his ladder as we heard thunder. i agreed with that decision. He came back a few days later and speculated they had not properly made provision for the AC discharge. He assured me they would get back to me after he spoke with his experts.

Alas, four more phone calls were unreturned. They never showed up. There is no possible conclusion other than this:
       They are hard sell aluminum siding guys
       They do sub par installations
       They don't respond to customer queries and
       They do not back up their work.

Their guarantee is meaningless. I will retain another company to remediate their sloppy work, bill them for the new charges, and almost certainly wind up in small claims court-which, pain in the neck though it is, i will surely do as their behavior is too irritating to ignore. I have benefitted greatly from Angieslist reviews so today i am doing my part and sharing this one.

Good. The installation went good, and their cleanup was very good. They came out on a Sunday because of weather conditions which is above and beyond.

Heavy snow delayed the work, but when they came they did a fantastic job.

Service was good, however, the  workers did not get the instructions regarding the placement of the gutters.  Fortunately, the worker checked before cutting through a brand new deck. The work was performed quickly and everything was picked up before they left.  We were pleased with the outcome..

The job required 30% down with the remainder paid upon job completion. As the job was done in the winter, it got rescheduled a few times due to weather. When the job was completed, the shed was mistakenly not done as well. It took almost another month for the shed to get done. Boston Leaf Guard did not bill me for the remainder of the balance til the job was fully completed. I thought that was a great thing on their part.
The professionalism of the job along with the quality of the gutters makes me glad I went with Boston Leaf Guard. I got 3 other estimates as well. Boston Leaf Guard was on the higher end (in price) but their NO-CLOG warranty and gutter design and quality made choosing them easy.

This company was amazing. They communicated excellently, always arrived and left as planned, cleaned up after each day.
Within 1 week of their job completion, I discovered I now needed a new ROOF. The company was so helpful and courteous, they were back out, TOOK DOWN THEIR NEWLY INSTALLED GUTTERS, and placed it all neatly on the side of our property. This prevented me from the concern that the ROOFERS might accidently damage the gutters, and the warranty would be voided.
When the roof was finished, I called the office and within a day or 2 they were back out putting the gutters in both the FRONT and the BACK , up for the second time.
THE MINUTEMAN LEAFGUARD PEOPLE DID THIS ALL AT NO CHARGE!!
I am one happy customer. Oh, I want to say I responded to this company long before I'd become an Angies List member. because of their company having the GOOD HOUSKEEPING SEAL...Nuf said.

They were excellent and very professional. They got the job done. I slept through most of the installation, so they definitely were not noisy and they left the area clean. Their salesman was very good.

We were happy with the work. Leafguard is really the best and were recommended by Good Housekeeping. They are little more expensive, but they are of great quality and come highly recommended. I am very pleased with them.

It became obvious to me that they try and fit in as many jobs as possible in one day. They did not come until very late in the afternoon around 4 o'clock to take down the old gutters and then returned the following morning to install the new gutters. I felt it would have been better if it was all done on the same day. However, I do understand business and I do understand labor. The job turned out fine. Every time I hear the water going down those downspouts, it's music to my ears. The gutters are lifetime guaranteed so I hope I don't have to use them again in the future.

They did a very nice, clean job at installing the gutter guards. They did a very professional job. They are courteous and stuck to the contract. They cleaned up after themselves. They did whatever they said they were going to do.

Lars did an excellent job working out the quote and discussing options with us. Unfortunately he did not have a example with him of the complicated connection for a gable end downspout. They were great about the fact that I had to delay having them out twice until I could fix issues with the fascia board. The material was delivered the day before the installation. The installers were two hours later than they said they would be, but did an excellent job after that. They were able to show me the complicated gable-end connection and were happy to revise the drawings Lars had made to accommodate some last minute changes. They were also great in advising me on how to best route some of the downspouts, and did a great job on the actual installation. Unfortunately, there was one location where the fascia was not quite perfectly flat which caused a problem with the gutter so that water ran over the edge rather than into the gutter, but they were out within a week to fix the problem.

They came out quickly and were very responsive to my concerns. I got a 20% discount. They were great!

It is now October 4 and I can watch the gutters shed off the leaves as I write. I live in a woodsy setting and have had to battle clogged gutters and downspouts for over 20 years. Not any more! I never thought I would be so excited about a mundane thing like gutters, but I am ecstatic to have this constant source of aggravation gone. The job was costly, but well worth it. I have a friend who lives under lots of trees and we have watched these gutters perform for over a year now. What can I say; they really do work! The rep. was very knowledgeable about the product, the installation was done very efficiently in a day. The time from the estimate to installation was about 4 weeks.

Like I said, this was a whole system, not just something that you add on. Everything was okay. I am very happy with them and I did not have any problems at all. A few years ago a neighbor had this done down the street and also a friend in Hanover did too. I like the way they had turned out, so I hired them to do mine. They did put one color on because they did not have my color. They said when the color came in; they would come back and put them on again. I did not think they would. I thought we would have to call them. They did and the gutters are holding up really well.

Minuteman Seamless Gutters installed our Englert LeafGuard gutters about five years ago. Lars Abrahamson assessed the work required to replace the damaged gutters. The work was completed several weeks later. A connection from a downspout to a gutter section failed a within a few months. Minuteman Seamless Gutters reconnected the downspout and cleaned two sections of the original system that were clogged with needles.

An exceptionally well installation and cleanup. (Because I was away at the time of the work being done and, my husband (who is a man of few words was present, I'm afraid that my description is not as lengthy as it would have otherwise been).

THE PRICE AND TIMING WERE EXACTLY WHAT THEY SAID IT WOULD BE. THEY EVEN CALLED ME AT WORK AND IDENTIFIED SERIOUS ROTTING NOT ORIGINALLY ANTICIPATED. THEY FOUND ME A HIGH GRADE CARPENTER TO REPLACE THE FANCY WOODWORK (SAME DAY!) AND COVERED THE COST AND ADDED IT TO MY BILL. THE WORK WAS FANTASTIC, NEAT AND QUICK. THE SYSTEM WORKS GREAT AND THEY GAVE A LIFETIME WARRANTY.
