I still have mice in my house and he said the work was guaranteed for 2 years. The mice are back and he will not return my phone calls.

He said we had a 3 year warranty, and promised to be back in 2 weeks to clear up traps and make sure the holes were filled in. Since then he has responded to one text, but we haven?t heard anything else from him.  His phone is disconnected, he cashed our check, and the squirrels are still there. He lied about the cost of the project; he told my husband it would be $1000, but ended up charging me $1700.

I contacted Community Pest Control because I have a squirrel family living in the roof of my house. Two gentlemen (Pat and his worker) from Community Pest Control came out to my home on 9/7/13 and explained they would install a device that would allow the squirrel to exit the hole but not re-enter. I agreed and they installed the device with a cost to me of $400. Pat, the supervisor, explained the $400 would also cover any follow-up work and within two weeks they would return and seal up the hole with filler. Within hours of the install (which occurred at appx. 1 PM) and after paying $400 to the Community Pest Control workers, the squirrels were freely accessing hole again. I immediately called Pat and explained the situation. He said he would send his "ladder guy" over to adjust the device. I made that call on the same day of the install, 9/7/13. Today is 11/5/13 (2 months later) and no one has come back out to make any adjustments to the device despite the fact that I have called over a dozen times. I have spoken with Pat at least 4 times and each time he says someone will come out. I realize that squirrel abatement can be tricky, so I was willing to be patient. I was open to Community even trying other options but it seems that was not their intent. It is now clear to me that I made a HUGE mistake in hiring Community Pest Control. This company does not stand behind its work, is unprofessional, and has questionable practices.
Finally, I have never taken steps like this before (writing a review) for any previous interaction as a consumer. However, I believe this matter warrants a review due to the blatant, egregious behavior of Community Pest Control. I am still dealing with the squirrels and have since filed complaints with the Attorney General of Massachusetts and the Better Business Bureau.  Hopefully, one the two can assist me with getting back my $400. Otherwise, it is on to Small Claims Court. This company should not be an available option on Angie's List or any other consumer search site.

I would never recommend him to anyone. At first he seemed very engaging and eager to help . Once he got paid, we never heard from him again! He never returned any messages ! He did not fulfill his obligation in the contract. And we still have major issues w bugs. He assured us that he would come right back if we had any issues and completely disregards our messages. We had to file w the better business bureau and attorney generals office. Beware of this con man.

We contacted Community Pest for carpenter ants and that work was completed with no issues but while there were told by the owner that there was evidence of termites. An estimate was supposed to be given after measuring the house but the work was performed without one with a charge of $5,600. Thinking the price was very high we contacted several other termite exterminators and was told the work was priced at double what it should have been. The owner agreed to take off $2,000 but then refused to take our phone calls when we were trying to negotiate further. He stopped payment on the $2,000 check he sent and we had to file a complaint with the BBB and the Attorney General's office to get back the $2,000. I had asked him to provide a bill for similar work showing the same amount charged which would cause me to drop the whole complaint but the request was ignored. In the end that was all we got back plus he saiid he would not honor the 3 year warranty which was according to him the reason for the high cost unless i reversed my complaint with the BBB which I refused.

Initially he was great and very attentive.  Now he?s just hard to get a hold of and won?t get back in touch with us.

Update 4/10/2012 It turns out he did not receive any of our messages we had left the people in the company.

After getting estimates from 3 other companies for pest removal and preventative work, we chose Community Pest Control. We worked earlier in year with owner, Pat and recently contracted with him for an annual pest control plan.  Throughout our experience he has been responsive, prompt and made multiple visits.  He is professional and friendly.  We are really pleased with the services that he has provided and would absolutely recommend his company to others.
