The entire company is a pleasure to deal with, everyone from the woman directing your calls to the installers to the service tech doing the initial start up. He arrived in the time window. He was very polite. He found the problem fairly quickly and made the repair. He even added some putty to the outside unit to prevent future mouse problems.

We had our old furnace replaced with a high efficiency unit. Chaves Heating and Air Conditioning provided extremely good service at a good price. We dealt mainly with Joe Chaves himself. He responded promptly and politely. He just brought by our rebate form already filled out and ready to go to MassSave. I recommend them highly.

It took three visits before they solved the problem. So they did fix it. It was a new house to us and we were getting high bills because the air conditioning was short cycling so we asked them to help out because their name was on the air conditioning.

Chaves Heating was recommended by a friend of mine and I called them to install a split AC in Living room. a person from Chaves came at the appointed time, did an estimate and provided me with some options for the installation. He also worked with me to find the right place for the split AC inside the house. He then sent me a proposal by email with all the details. He also answered my questions via email promptly.Once I agreed to the proposal, we setup a date and the AC was installed on that date without any issues. I would recommend Chaves to my friends for Heating and Cooling related projects.

We have been customers of Chaves for many years. We are on their easy-pay maintenance program for our gas furnace and central A/C.
Our old house has a couple of rooms that never warm up in the winter. We asked Joe Chaves to come over, he looked at our situation thoroughly and recommended we install a couple of mini-split heat pumps. He quoted a single outside unit and two inside units. We waited several months, then decided to pull the trigger. He came back out, reviewed everything and put things in motion. That afternoon he called us up and explained how, with rebates and incentives, it actually would cost less to get two smaller outside units instead of a single larger one. More efficient, too.
They had the units in stock and were out the next day installing. The installers were courteous, fast, neat and clean. All Chaves workers put on cloth booties over their street shoes every time they enter the house. We had to wait a couple of days for the electricians to come (they are a different local company), and they also were very quick about their work and did a very neat, professional job.
As soon as the electricians were done, Joe came back out to the house to show us how to operate the units. And then to the most important part: rebates. We got two rebates totaling $2250 (over 25% of the total cost) from Mass Save and a five-year interest-free loan for the balance. Joe had all the paperwork we needed to do this, we only had to enter our name, address, etc, address a couple of envelopes and stick on stamps to mail them. He made it extremely easy.
Now the two rooms which we used to abandon each winter are cozy and warm. We highly recommend Chaves and will use their services for as long as we live here.

Went great from start to finish. Joe came out to provide in home consulting and then emailed detailed options.
I waited for the existing furnace to die a slow death, which it dead during a cold February week. I called Joe and his crew came out the next day and did a great job replacing the furnace. Everything went smoothly and they dealt with town inspection and state energy rebates paperwork too.
Highly professional and highly recommended.

Overall good experience with Chaves - I called them at 12:30 and they showed up 2 hours later. Given the fast response and resolution I think the cost was worth it in the middle of winter.

These guys are good. I met with Andre who came out to the house to assess my options for a new furnace. He gave me no-BS answers about the options, including costs and tradeoffs on the ultra-high efficiency models. I settled on a high efficiency model which they then installed.
About a year later, I got this annoying buzzing sound when the furnace came on. Could not locate it, but it was clearly related to the furnace. They came right out and fixed it by strapping some pipes, no charge.
The install was very clean and well engineered.Built to be serviced with cutoffs above and below all valves and circulators. Their price was a soup-to-nuts price, with no add ons or other charges, including relining my chimney. When I saw there quote and asked the other bidders, they told me that would cost extra, and yes, it was needed. Despite this, Chaves was right in there with the other bids I got.
Great value, great service, I wish more companies were this easy to do business with.
