He showed up 2 hours late, end of the day. I showed him the clean out cap for the sewer main. He ignored it and went to the tub instead. He worked 20 minutes, scratched the tub, tracked mud through out the work area and presented us with a bill for $443.50. He had me sign a tablet that he held the whole time and left. One month later the sewer line completely clogged, flooding the bathroom and den. Another service was called, went directly to the clean out cap that he ignored. They worked for 2 hours and successfully cleared the drains. I contacted Mr. Rooter of Hamden and Hamshire counties, explained the situation and asked for a refund. I provided them with the bill for the additional service, was told they would take care of it and get back to me that business day. I didn't hear back from them until I contacted Yelp and my state consumer protection division. Though the contract I signed with them states I'm entitled to a refund if their service failed, they refuse to honor their contract. BUYER BEWARE.

Although it took longer than expected due to equipment failure the men were always prompt, professional and hard working. Not an easy job and will make our life easier from now on.

I needed to fix a shower problem at a rental property. Tim or Timmy came by late than the promised time. I wasn't familiar with all the term he uses, and asked him to explain a few more times. then he started getting inpatient, and wouldn't want to continue. they quoted $4000 to fix a shower water not being hot enough issue, and charge $50 for any estimate. I would avoid using them. At least not the plumber who came by today. I wouldn't pay money to enjoy this type of services.

It was quite a bit of money. They did a wonderful job. I think the price was reasonable for all of the time they put in here. They were here several days. They were very accommodating. They moved things out of the way, and put them back the way they were. They had to come back to do that. I was very happy with it. They came right away. I would definitely use them again. There was a variety of people that came. Originally there was one person that got the drain open. Then there were four people that came in to wash and sanitize. There was another person that did some drain work again. There was another one who came in to check on the work. They made sure everything was to my satisfaction. It took them almost a week because they had to put in heavy duty dryers, and they had to come back and check on those. Whatever they removed that was damaged, they just took it with them and I didn't have to worry about disposing it. They were all very professional. They all had nice, clean uniforms on. They were very helpful with whatever I wanted done. They were very agreeable. They tried to help me in every way that they could. It was quite a shock. They left the area very good. My first impression of them was very good. It happened late in the day and the first fellow that came here was here for five hours until late in the night. He made sure I could to use the facilities.

fast, neat, courteous, professional.          Used floor protectors on boots since there was ice on the ground. Last winter I had some plumbers here for a backed upped toilet issue and they just sleppped in and out across rugs and floors with nothing on their boots....made a real mess............

Don't hesitate to hire these folks

Service was prompt and satisfactory but roughly twice as expensive as private plumber used for same job one year later.

They were supposed to come for a free estimate but they want to charge me for the whole process. However, I didn’t pay them. First of all, I found their price to be extremely high. I would not use their service. I didn’t appreciate being twisted on.

I love those guys.  I called and the young lady who answered the phone said they could be up the next morning and they were there the next morning.  They were in and out and took the old scraps with them.  They were very responsive.

, I had used this company before, and based on my satisfaction with the plumbers, I called them this time to replace the washing machine  water  mixer valve.  The 2 men( one was being oriented?) were punctual, pleasant,  professional, and reassuring. They assessed the situation then left to get the valve. They had given me the price, 317.51.  I know that the price of the mixer runs from approximately $50-$75, however at the time I did not know how long it would take them  to do the work.  They returned, and in a brief time had the new valve in, and checked.

I am concerned about the price.   I would like an itemized list from the company spelling out what adds up to the estimate.  When I sub tract the higher price of the valve from the estimate, I find that I paid  at least  $242 for labor.  Most of the time was spent  on their  acquiring the valve, because it took only a brief time to complete the installation.  My conclusion is that I paid $172/hour for labor???

I know the plumbers did not set the estimate, and I certainly hope Mr. Rooter treats them well.  I have nothing but positive statements about the plumbers; my issue is with the company.

In the future, if it is not an emergency, I shall get estimates from local plumbers, although I do know the wait for a local one can be very long, and frustrating.  Depending on the work needed to be done, yes I would use this group again.  I might ask the plumbers some questions about the estimate though.

Our kitchen faucet (washerless) began leaking tremendously such that we had to shut off the water from underneath the sink. We called in the morning and the plumber (Willie - he was great!) was there within an hour or two. We needed a new faucet. He recommended we pick up a delta faucet since it has a lifetime guarantee. He went to another service call and I went out to Home Depot to select a faucet. He returned around noon to replace it and was finished by about 1:00 p.m. or so. He was quick, friendly and professional. He told me up front what the cost would be. My only gripe is that the cost seemed rather high, but given that they came out on such short notice, I recognize that makes it more expensive. Overall, I'm very satisfied and would use them again.

I liked them a lot. He didn't actually do the job he came to do; he recommended something else that was less expensive. I appreciated that. He could have made a lot more money off of the job than he did. He was very reliable, worked with me and didn't charge more for coming on a Saturday.

They were very expensive. We did not know what to do at that time and hired them to do the work. He worked till the toilet was clear. Perhaps something had fallen in and blocked the toilet. He did the best he could He was very efficient and courteous. I did not find anything wrong with him.

I have had to call Mr. Rooter several times, and they have always been very prompt and able to work around my schedule. That's a huge plus. When they came to fix a leak from my upstairs shower, however, there were a few glitches. One, they charged me $200 for a new shower valve that I'm pretty sure I could have purchased on my own for $75-100. Second, it took them three visits to actually fix the leak. I did get a personal visit from the manager after the third trip, so I did appreciate that. Third, they had to cut through the drywall to access the plumbing, and they left some mess behind. All in all, I will likely continue to call Mr. Rooter because they did seem to care about our problem and were willing to help us fix it, but I hope that future problems are more quickly (and cheaply) resolved.

They were prompt and on time, and they did a good job. I would say all good things about them although I think that their prices are too high. I would like to use the one particular gentleman - I don’t remember his name - that came out to do the job. There have been other people that have come out but I don’t really care for them.

The Toilets and all the Sinks would not drain from the house. We called Mr. Rooter it was about 500 dollars or so to stick a camera down our drain and clear the line out. Guy did not have working camera equipment and retrieved it from the shop and returned same day to compete the work. Come to find out the drain line was overtaken with roots and such and needed to be replaced. The contractor secured digging equipment for the next day. The 30 feet of from the center driveway to the street was only 5 years old, and we wanted to be assured that new line would be run to the newer stuff in the center driveway (about 30') from the building entry. I don't know if it was lost in translation but they ran the line from the center of the drive way to within 5' of the house. A subsequent project replaced the interior drain line so now I still have 5' of 100 year old drain line leaving the house. The Driveway was patched (came out a bit shoddy but hey its a 30'X3' driveway patch, what can you do) After all was done the toilets had a severe 'bubbling up' problem (scary to my 2 year-old). The contractor team came back and started cutting and snaking vent lines and could not identify the problem after a couple hours. It seemed things were getting overly expensive so we paid the contractors and went elsewhere.

The plumber we had used in the past (recommended by a co-worker) was suddenly nowhere to be found--disconnected business phone. We came straight to Angie's list and saw positive reviews of Mr. Rooter. I called and right away spoke with a real person (no answering machine!) who very pleasantly scheduled a free estimate the very next day. "3 to 5" was the window given, but at 3 pm sharp Jim showed up. He was very professional, very respectful, and carefully listened to what we wanted to do and wrote out a very clear estimate. We decided that evening to have the work done and when we called the next day, Jim was able to come out at 1 pm! The handle/spout removal, trip to a nearby town to pick up specialty parts (because of the age of the fixtures), and installation all together took only a couple of hours and the total cost was right in the middle range of the estimate. Jim even inspected the sink, washer and dryer, and water heater free-of-charge, then gave us an estimate on some work we're considering doing on an outdoor faucet. Very well worth every penny. And the work carries with it a 60-day warranty.
