Yes, I recommend this pro
I think they are great. They are very helpful. This was my first time using them, and would recommend them. Their prices are very good, and they seemed to be experienced.

We had Chris quote us for a significant amount of work done to our front yard. We were looking for new stone steps, landing, and a retaining wall. We also wanted our walkway replaced with stone and our light posts and mailbox switched over as well. His estimate was a bit higher than the other quotes we received, but he was also able to do some tree work that we needed to be done so we hired him. Overall I would consider the work to be of extremely poor quality. First, the walkway that was built was first "completed" despite there being a large gap where the driveway meets the walkway. It became clear after finally getting in touch with Chris that he had never even supervised the work or even seen the final project. This became a common theme throughout the project. We did finally get him to fill in the gap, but whatever he used was soft and on the first hot day, nearly melted and the several stones are already loose on the new walkway. Second, the steps and stone facade around them were also built poorly. The mortar around the edges was crumbling within days and you can pull pieces out by hand. The facade has large gaps between stones and after having another contractor come look at the work, he confirmed that things were not done properly. They also for some reason cut into a large piece of trim board rather than trim the stones down. The finished product looked awful and when we asked Chris to fix it, he said he could not do the work because he "was not a carpenter". After much back and forth, he took off $100 for the mistake. The retaining wall that was built was not what we asked for and already large stones have fallen out (within about a month of being built). The mortar on the wall is also crumbling just like on the landing. When we asked him to rebuild the wall he refused and said that would be a whole new job. The mailbox post and light posts were probably the worst part of the job. The mailbox post was replaced with what looked to be the cheapest vinyl post he could find. It was crooked, had cracks and the rusty screws were visible. After going back and forth on that work, he did finally agree to remove that cost from the estimate. The granite light posts that were installed look fine, however, after we installed the lights a few weeks later, they no longer work. The electrician that he referred to us said that Chris's guys must have cut the electrical wires when digging. He won't return our emails or phone calls about the issue. If it hasn't been clear from this mess, I would certainly not advise doing business with this company under any circumstances. We had to hire another contractor to fix many of these issues.
