Update: The only way I was able to get a response from the company related to above was by filing a complaint with the BBB. Farrell Pools then proceeded to blatantly lie about every aspect of the complaint, some of which I was able to directly refute with my phone records. Have heard from others that this company is rude and deceitful - would never use them again.
"We began the process of opening and cleaning the customers pool on Monday May 6th as scheduled. We returned three more times over the next week, and on Monday the 13th the pool was vacuumed, and was ready to use. The customer called a few days later and said the pool pump was very loud and we concluded the ball bearings in the motor were going, and would need replacement. We had replaced the motor three years previously and I suggested that we could elevate the motor to hopefully get it to last longer, I also suggested that we downsize the horsepower slightly to save electricity. The customer agreed to these ideas and gave us the go ahead to do the work. The motor was noisy, but was running and the pool was clean and swimmable. The motor was in a shed away from the house, and motors can run sometimes for years with bad bearings, so the job was not a top priority. Our philosophy in the very crazy spring pool opening season is to get our customers pools up and running, and we prioritize repairs on a daily basis. Big leaks, dead systems, true emergencies are always moved to the top of the list. Drips and minor repairs which do not prevent our customers from using their pool are moved lower on the list. If I failed to explain this properly to the customer than I am to blame for that. If the poll motor failed, and the pool stopped running, that was NEVER communicated to this office. I have NO records or recollections of any of these conversations. If the motor failed and we were informed, It would become a top priority and been replaced promptly"
"I have to respond to these comment, we definately had communication problems with Member. He can be difficult to reach at times and we could only work on the pool a very specific times. The pool has a number of problems which require different skills to solve. I contacted Member after reading his review and offered to meet and try and resolve the problems. We had a nice talk but I have not heard from him since."
During his time at the house he gave everything a once over, he installed some antifreeze type blocked in the filters, covered up the pump, and then put down the cover. He was fast and seemed very knowledgeable. Along the way he gave me some advice on replacing some older parts and about what it'd cost. He gave me some tips and tricks for maintaining the pool, and gave me a run down of some of the services offered by the company without being and quot;sales-eyand quot; at all. In fact, he never asked for a commitment on anything - it was always a and quot;by the way, we offer x-service for y-dollarsand quot;, or and quot;just so you know, we can do x for youand quot; and then just said to call the office if I was interested.
I gave a and quot;Band quot; for responsiveness because I've called a number of times and I've yet to not have to leave a message and wait for a call back. It never been more than next day. This might be because I've only called off-season.
All workers were more than willing to answer all questions during the procedure including liner installation, startup of filter system and general maintenance. All work was completed on time and I am completely satisfied with quality of workmanship. I will most certainly use Farrell Pool for all my future pool related needs.
