We were behind in our kitchen renovation with all new rough plumbing and gutted walls with no insulation. We were getting desperate...January in New England is not the time to have gutted walls. We call Emesets Construction and spoke to Martin who came out, priced the job and explained what would be done. He promised to work us into his schedule. He and his helper arrived within a week and worked non-stop. After insulation was in, a small electric heater keeps the area at 50 degrees. It's amazing stuff.
These guys are hard workers and really saved the day for us. We would hire them again in a minute.
Second, all soffits were sealed in preparation for spray foam insulation. This process took two days and overlapped the roof work.
Last, the spray foam insulation was applied to the underside of the roof in attic resulting in a 6-inch thick foam that would provide R-38 insulation value. This process took three days.
Martin and his employee, Claude, worked hard, did their utmost to keep our house clean, with clean-ups after each day of applying spray foam was completed. They were very nice and personable and at times so quiet we wondered if they had left without our knowledge.
One aspect of the owner, Martin Schramm, that I liked in particular is that he's also a licensed contractor with experience in many aspects of home construction and remodeling. He is also a former engineer and understands structural aspects of construction and remodeling which makes him a great choice for future renovation projects we have planned that may also require spray foam insulation; such as in our basement remodel that is about to start. He is the only contractor I will meet with again as the basement remodel begins after such a great experience with having him apply the spray foam insulation to our attic.
