We hired Brian for a bathroom and kitchen remodel. We were told it would take six weeks for bathroom, and that the kitchen would take two months. It ended up taking them five months, and then they walked off the project without finishing it. Brian frequently ignored our design specifications, and work had to be redone. They ordered pieces we didn't need despite having detailed designs with exact measurements from our architect which caused unnecessary delays. They didn't close up a pipe correctly which caused minor flooding in our brand new kitchen. Workers damaged a piece of our art work. We have permanent stains on two of rugs because they didn't property protect our floors. We had to micromanage every single stage of the project despite paying them a management fee. I think the only part of the project that went to plan was the initial demo work. They sent us multiple invoices that were off by thousands of dollars, and it took them weeks to correct. They back dated invoices which made it look like we weren't paying bills on time. In the end we had to bring in a lawyer to resolve the issues, and end the contract. Even that process, from the time Brian's lawyer and our lawyer reached a final payment agreement, it took Brian five months to get us the signed lein waivers. All told a project that they estimated would take them 6 to 8 weeks tied us up for nearly a year. On top of that, I need to hire someone else to finish up the work they didn't finish. The only good thing that came out of this experience was I learned I need to do more due diligence when hiring a contractor.

Brian was recommend by a friend when I could not find someone suitable to do the kitchen in my South End Boston condo. He was very nice and professional and came out right away, I had a quote within a couple of days. At first he was very responsive. I went ahead and ordered the cabinets since I had been waiting to find someone to do the work before moving forward with the project. We had a couple communications about errors in the quote like the stove being gas not electric. I never did get the updated quote when things went totally silent for about a month. No response from repeated texts, emails or phone calls. Finally after about a month I got a text before fourth of July saying and quot;i'll call you next weekand quot;. I never got a call. Fortunately Gerrity in Woburn, where I purchased many granite counter tops over the years, recommended someone in Wilmington that was able to come in with only a weeks notice and do my project. My impression is that Brian is used to doing much larger jobs than mine, and probably had what he deemed much more important clients to service than me. However, I wish he had just told me that instead of leaving me hanging. Had I not been bailed out by Construction Artisans I would be in deep trouble with a house full of cabinets (my place is 625 square feet with no storage) and nobody to install them.

I had a very good experience with Brian, Ruben and Jacob at Roberts Design and Construction. Brian gave me a decent quote (the second lowest I received), and the general experience was positive. Ruben and Jacob were helpful, quiet and respectful around the house, and had a real eye for detail. Sometimes it felt that the work was going slightly slower than it might, but it was often related to detailed work (like getting cabinet alignments right) so in the end I was fine with that. I particularly recommend getting Ruben because he has a very good and quot;eyeand quot; for how things will look best, and his work is good quality. There were very few mistakes, and when there were, they were immediately rectified without complaint or pushback. They cleaned up the house very well when they were finished, and were happy to do additional pieces of work around the house before they left. This is the first time I've ever hired a contractor or done work in my house, so I was very anxious beforehand about being ripped off, or getting bad service, but I have to say that Brian and his team put all my fears to rest, and I'll be using them again.

Brian and his team did an excellent job with all aspects of the job - from design, demolition, framing, plumbing, electrical, sheet rock, designer tile, paint and finish. The bathroom was delivered on time, just as we had designed it, and it has functioned perfectly. Many thanks to Brian and his team.

Extremely happy with the whole experience. Brian and crew worked according to the proposed plan and accomplished everything on time and on budget. Very responsive to our needs, and high quality work. Perhaps most importantly, Brian accommodated our preferred mode of communication - email. Every other contractor we talked to either insisted on talking on the phone constantly, which just was not possible considering our jobs, or would use email very unreliably.
