We were quite excited to start this project and NJZ was highly recommended by a close friend. Problems began from day 1 when the on-site "manager" requested our assistance to move out our appliances. I had to provide the manager a copy of the plans several times - the framers had the incorrect plans and proceeded to build a window too big and left out another window. No one was on site supervising and I was left to do it. They told us we would be without electricity to our two home offices for one week, but six weeks went by and not even an extension cord was offered to us. (I eventually had to ask and was told they had many in their trailer.) We were told that they could not put in a temporary electrical feed due to safety, but the electrician informed us that he offered on the first day and that he was told it would be too expensive. Two months later, our front light posts that were working perfectly before the project started were still without electricity (there are no lights out here so we would return home in total darkness - having to use our phones to walk through our large yard) and whenever I inquired I was given the run around- basically told that it was not included in the project even though we paid a lot of extra money to have a new electricity box and the electrician informed me that he offered to connect these lights weeks earlier. I literally had to have a "crazy" episode to get a response. Well, this type of thing continued during the entirety of the project. The owner would tell me one thing and the manager another. Whenever we brought up an issue, the first and second responses were that they were not responsible. (including for water that came into the basement they built from scratch) The owner rarely came onto the property - basically only when he wanted a check and we heard nothing from him during the last 2 months of the project. Never came by, never called, never emailed. He did not even see the final product. The one (and only) positive I have to say is that the subcontractors they hired (except for the first painters) were professional, clean, and really great. I"m still experiencing traumatic symptoms as a result of dealing with these people.
Description of Work: Demolished old kitchen and built new kitchen/family room and partly finished basement.
