After we purchased the land rover, their were multiple problems.  The owner stated that the car had been sitting
for a while and there may be some problems.  We were to make a list and he would take care of everything.
We made a list and he stated that the repairs were done.  After one week, the head lights kept going out.  We returned
the car and again it was stated they were fixed.  Then the engine would not turn over at all a week later.  Again, we returned
& were told it was fixed.  The lights went out again - tough when you are driving at night!.  Again told it was fixed.  I finally said
that I wanted my money back.  the owner then really looked into the problem and had to order a part.  He asked for partial payment
for the part because it was more expensive than he thought.  I said no, but he could have the car back and resell it.  He refused.
After about 2 months of the back and forth, we finally had the car ok for about two weeks.  The muffler appeared to be going so
we took it to our own mechanic to repair, for a cost of $800.  Once that was done, the car began to overheat.  We took it back to our mechanic and he told us the head gasket was put on backwards and it will overheat after a few miles unless fixed for a cost of $2,500.  I called Hingham Auto Repair and asked if they had put on the head gasket as we could not afford this and I wanted him to fix this for cost.  He said since I took it to another mechanic he would not fix it.  I said I wanted my money back and he proceeded to yell at me that I was trying to cheat him and I would try to take him to court, then he hung up on me.
Needless to say, I would NEVER go back to him.  However, my neighbors swear by him.
