Complete backyard deck refinishing including steps: $800.00. Total Deck's team power washed, treated, sanded and stained deck. My deck had a lot of black/green mildew which was ALL removed with their careful process. Sanding was done twice to get down to fresh, Total Deck's team power washed my very black/green mildewed deck; treated with antibacterial product to inhibit future problems; sanded twice down to beautiful (for pressure-treated wood!) clean wood; and hand-applied a stain/water repellant/protector which is a beautiful light golden brown.
My deck looks better than new and it's 10 years old!
Very thorough, professional, and diligent crew.
Second job was to stain large six-bay garage. Total cost including repairs to wood rot and damage, $6200. The barn had extensive water damage/rot to the boards at the foundation due to years of splash-up damage. I was concerned that I would have to first find and hire a carpenter to scope and repair the damage. Total Deck not only does painting/staining but also has a carpenter on staff to repair the inevitable problems with wooden structures from the elements. The arrived promptly with several workers who completed the whole job in about 2-1/2 days (finished up on a Saturday morning).
The barn looks brand new. Very happy with all the repairs and that Total Deck offers one-stop shopping combining two services that I needed done.
We are so very pleased with Total Deck and the owner Nick Thibodeau. He's a very trustworthy honest individual who runs a great business and was a pleasure to work with. Send a great, complete quote promptly and kept me informed as to the scheduling of my job. You will find the company's work to be top-notch! When the next job is in our plans I will call Total Deck.
never saw marc again. His guys (2) came the were clean with the job
My main problem was the price. it was totally our of bounds
"This job was completed in September of 2014. Not sure why it took her more than 6 months to generate a review? Her information is incorrect. We painted 3 interior walls and 1 exterior wall and we stripped and restored a landing and set of steps. I charged her $900.00 for both labor and materials. I took a $225.00 deposit and she paid the balance of $675.00 once complete, and on the bottom of the check- in the memo section she wrote: "JOB WELL DONE" I had 2 men there for two days. I think that's very fair! She wanted me to do more work and I actually refused to do it because I knew she didn't have the money to properly do the job and I actually credited her back $200.00 (actual price was $1100). She never complained about the quality, my employees, the cost-nothing! Then, 7 months later-this? She is on a fixed budget. Unfortunately her husband passed the year before and she seems hyper focused on it. We had several long conversations and she sometimes broke into tears. She is a very nice person but seems extremely affected by the passing. Her review contains incorrect information and further never mentions the timing of the job, the quality, my professionalism or that of my employees. I'm not sure how you remember all the details of a job more than 6 months after the fact? If she was not happy with my price, she had the option to not purchase from me or look around for another contractor. Small jobs are sometimes a little more expensive because as a business person you still have all the same fixed costs as a larger job. That's why many contractors won't take them-I do! I don't turn anything away-NO JOB TOO SMALL! Cause, if you do a good job, they invariably lead to other projects. I feel very sorry for this woman and would be happy to discuss her project if she would pick up the phone. This is one job I wish I never accepted, had I known this was the thanks I would get. I provide quality work, completed in a reasonable time frame, at a fair price and I stand behind the quality every single day. Thank You Marc"
