Gerry diagnosed the problem quickly and although the damage turned out to be more extensive than originally thought, Gerry feels he can reproduce the small board that is broken. Excellent. Gerry was the third technician I called for a tuneup and repair if necessary.first two tuned the piano but it didn't sound right,called Gerry he came over checked out the piano gave an estimate , made a appointment came back worked on my piano and it never sounded better.

I've used Gerry several times over the past few years and always have been extremely happy with the service and quality of work. My piano, my grandfathers, had never had extensive maintenance performed on it. Gerry took quite a bit of time to talk about the parts that had wear, what could be repaired, what needed to be replaced, what types of material he could use, and discussed quality of parts compared to price. He took the time needed to answer all my questions and never rushed through the process. Once I hired him, the quoted price and time frame never changed as he was true to both of them. Once he completed all the work on the parts that were refurbished, I used the piano for a few weeks and talked to him again about a few things (preferences) that I wanted adjusted. - Having new and softer felt on the hammers, I wanted the tone to be brightened a bit. - The new "ivories" where slightly smaller than the original and I could feel a slight lip on the edges. The smaller tops were discussed with me and put on to err on the side of having enough space between the original keys, but it turned out they were a bit too small for my liking. Gerry came back and addressed both of those without hesitation. Adjusted the felts and tone, as well as taking the keyboard back and put a whole new set of ivories. All the action was tightened, as the new material adjusted to the old piano and started to settle into place. The piano, a family heirloom, is a real joy to play now and will last into the next generation. Gerry has been back several times to tune the piano and make whatever adjustments are needed to keep everything aligned properly. He is a real master at his craft and very friendly. You'll be happy if you need any piano services to consider using this company.
