We had this company build a new master-suite in our home. That included floor plan changes, tiling the bath, installing a new shower, a jetted tub and a new toilet. Only 3 months after many things fall apart. A glass shelf almost fell in the tub when my wife was in it. It almost injured her. Towel racks came of the walls leaving giant holes behind. The brand new tub stoped draining. I brought in a licensed plumber to fix that and he told me he never saw "such a sh*tshow". And conveniently Mike told me in the middle of he project that his company declared bankruptcy, so no point suing him.

He reinforced the floor and cut a whole in the plywood for the new shower. He then called a meeting to ask for money for the specified shower door and the extra for reinforcing the floor, I told him I was willing to pay him $375--for the extra(even though I didn't have to) with the provision that he order the specified shower door I said I would pay the supplier directly. He agreed, I paid him ($375--and he never ordered the door.

I have worked with Mike’s Powerhouse Crew for 4 years on various renovations of my Cape Cod cottage. We started with new stairs to the basement, then new stairs to access the second floor, with space created downstairs for a washer/dryer. After that, a conversion of the attic into a loft bedroom, with an office and full bath plus three 5 new windows. The layout is fantastic. And they did a kitchen renovation that required moving a wall over about 5 feet to create a really nice eating nook. Lots of cabinetry was redone around a new stove and microwave, and lots more. Every one of these jobs benefited from the clever way that Mike and his team designed the renovations to make them work really well, when everyone else thought they would be impossible. The attention to detail and the finishing touches were really great, too. No problem when I asked for something more—they added it to the list and charged me for the extra work at the rate we agreed to. The costs always seemed like a bargain. As a teacher, I would give the team an A+!

The work went well. I will use the service again. Highly recommend.

We were quite satisfied with the way Mike carried out the work we wanted done. Communication was excellent; we were kept well informed of scheduling and progress for various stages of work until the job was finished. We were happy with the final product.

Mike satisfied everything a person can desire in a contractor. He assessed my family's project to put in a new 12' by 15' deck expertly. He was very responsive in explaining the work and answering my questions. He priced the job fairly including an Angie's List discount. The only reason my family did not sign the estimate Mike sent us is that the vote was to go with a paver stone patio instead of a deck. The job for which Mike responded with an estimate consisted of a "floating" style deck, with surface preparation, using Veranda composite decking.

These workers are excellent. Mike is very knowledgeable, quick to respond and professional. Jobs were discussed ahead of time and in detail, no surprises or extra expense. Would definitely use them in the future.

Hired Mike and his crew to remove a good amount of plywood from attic and to build a walkway in attic. They saved the plywood that was requested, and didn't just throw everything in the dumpster. The crew was professional and courteous. Will be hiring again for other side projects. Thank you Mike & Crew!

We hired Mike's crew to do a fairly good sized bit of work on our house that began in Dec of 2017 and was completed in May of 2018. -- SCOPE OF JOB -- - Building out an entirely new Full bathroom (with a large walk-in shower) - removing 3 dilapidated balconies, walling over (1) that was internal wall only (yes, it was a balcony INSIDE the house), walling over (1) that was an external wall, and replacing (1) with a large, new pair of double-hung windows - a complete and total renovation of the kitchen, installing all new cabinets and countertops, all new plumbing and electrical, all new tile floor and tile backsplash, new over-range hood vent, and new lighting, etc. - part of the kitchen reno included opening up a load-bearing wall to expand footprint of kitchen a bit, which, naturally, involved working with a structural engineer and dealing with requisite permitting - full demo and removal of an awkwardly installed fireplace and flue (not original to the house), which required patching of the roof above and the wood floor below - running plumbing and electrical necessary to place washer/dryer in the Den - nearly full renovation of 2 full and 1 half bathrooms: the 2 full bathtubs were left, but all had new vanity, sink, floor tiling, toilet, lighting - correcting water damage due to badly installed plumbing and exterior walls by previous owners - patching and completely reshingling part of the roof - putting up new cedar shingling along front and back of house where balconies were removed - fixing/patching damaged parque flooring by using extra "squares" picked up from area to be used for new bathroom - running new electrical circuits, as-needed - dealing with buliding, electrical, and plumbing permits and inspections with the town - a bunch of interior painting: all the bathrooms, all ceilings in the entire house, and a few of the larger rooms - installing 2 new ceiling fans, including one from a 16' ceiling - and probably a few other things I've missed. This was not a small job. -- QUALITY OF WORK -- Let's start with the end. The final product was GOOD QUALITY WORK. There's not a person who's walked into the house who hasn't said, "Wow, they did a great job!" -- and they did. The entire time I felt like they cared about how everything came out as if it was their own house. -- COST -- They charged a fair price. I never felt like they were nickel-and-dime-ing me. I'm sure you could probably find someone to do it a little cheaper, but they provide a really good bang for your buck. - THE INTANGIBLES - I live 250 miles away from the house, which presented a whole host of challenges on this project. I can't imagine having done this with anyone other than Mike's crew. For example, when crap hit the fan after a storm, they were on-site and taking care of things before I even had a chance to really freak out about it. They helped me with receiving items being shipped to the house -- appliances, materials, etc ... and not just taking the thing inside, but actually inspecting the item in question to make sure it wasn't damaged. More than once they caught a damaged item and saved my skin. It was like having someone I trusted on-site all the time. And you can't put a price tag on that. -- WHAT THEY ARE NOT -- They are not designers, so come with plans for what you want to do. I also get the sense that this project was on the larger end of projects that they deal with and, as such, I had to keep on top of the project, the progress, and the incoming invoices. I'm sure if you're just doing a bathroom or just a kitchen reno, or just putting in a new set of windows ... then this doesn't even pop up as an issue. -- AT THE END OF THE DAY -- I would use them again. In fact, I'll probably be reaching out to them soon for a quote on some roofing work ... because it's never done.

Mike's Crew did a bathroom remodel for a rental property. Also, fixed an unexpected leak that came up. He came out promptly. Kept good communication. Fair price. Work was good quality.

It was fantastic. They did one heck of a job. They were pleasant, fixed everything, picked up supplies that we needed, and I would recommend them to anybody.

The rail was well designed and good looking, and the fence should not keep my new dog in the yard.

I was very pleased with the work Mike and his crew did. They took over a bathroom renovation mid process as a result of an unresponsive contractor. I appreciated their responsiveness and ability to get the project completed in a reasonable amount of time. Mike made sure I was completely satisfied before requesting the final payment. I would use them again.

IT went fine. They were punctual, clean and did a good job. We were pleased. The cost was a littlle higher than we expected but the work was scheduled and done quickly and very well.

They knew what they were doing. They arrived on time and were good about cleaning up when work was done. They were very professional. It turned out to be a wonderful job. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them to do more work for me when the time comes.

The quality of the work was good. They should have done a much faster job though. The estimate was three weeks but the work was done for three months. I would probably not use use them again in the future.

it went like clockwork for the major repairs, then slowed somewhat toward the end.

Mike's powerhouse crew was amazing. To tradesmen, excellent work, work done on time, kept to budget, credits given where anticipated wasn't needed, everyone very patient and accommodating to my wishes to make changes as work progressed. And Mike was here every day to supervise, keep things on track, address problems that might arise, and generally see to it that all my wishes were met. And all the workers were great folks. Mike himself is terrific to work with, always ensuring top quality work. I give the Crew the highest rating, and I wish I could go higher.
