John Burke

He was recommended by the contractor who was doing the work.

The short and sweet story is that John was terrific and i'm having him back next week to do some more plumbing work for me!
Compared to other plumbers i have used over the years, i would give John my highest recommendation for a plumber in Southeastern Mass, because he is the most available (weekend available), responsive, knowledgeable, and efficient plumber i've ever had (and is a very pleasant and friendly person, as well!).


The details? On a weekend (Saturday), the toilet water feeder/supply hose underneath the toilet in my bathroom had broken and then burst out, continuously spewing out water, causing a small flood. Not a fun discovery when i ran into the bathroom! But, luckily I was at home - otherwise, it would have been much worse. Now, i don't have many household repair skills - just don't happen to be the and quot;handyand quot; type.


So, i turned off the water knob underneath the toilet, which at least stopped the water from spraying out, but of course that meant that the toilet could not be flushed. Then, onto Angie's List I went and started making my phone calls/leaving messages.
One plumber called me back to say that he was not working on the weekend, and would only come over 2 or 3 days later on a weekday. Then, thankfully, John Burke in Hanson, MA returned my call and asked me to describe the problem. He then said that yes, he would drive over... even though it was on the weekend and I was not in his local area! (Another plumber later called me back after the fact on Sunday, then another on Monday who had just checked his messages from Saturday).


I had to go out to do some errands. John got to my house so soon that I was the one who was 10 minutes late to meet him! Instead of being angry or grumpy, he was very pleasant and friendly. He looked at the toilet and found that the problem was that a piece had broken off. He told me that he had the parts in his truck and replaced the full piece and a new hose. John fixed the whole problem in less than 20 minutes! I asked him to look at a couple other things that were not urgent, and I'm having him back to do the other plumbing tnings for me next week!

Update: John came back today for the second visit for the remaining items. The work and the supplies on this second visit were also excellent and the final price was fair for the work performed and supplies on the 2 visits.

He went above and beyond for me. He took his own time to make his own custom part for me. I did have an emergency with my sump pump when the pvc pipe burst. When I called him, he was at my house within ten minutes to fix the problem. He is the only plumber I would ever recommend to anyone. I have full confidence in his work. He is extraordinarily friendly and he thinks outside of the box. He found a very clever way to install a utility sink in my basement because the drainage pipe was lower than the other pipe in my house. He saved me $250 by installing the utility sink on top of an industrial palatte.
