I hired this contractor in 2010. I gave him about 5200 for my deposit. He never even started any work. He strung me along for about two years. I finally gave up and took him to small claims. A judgement was made against him and he was ordered to pay me the full amount back.!he never showed for the final court date so a writ of execution was given. When I went to the sheriff I was told I had to put s lien against his house because he was a corp( or something like that). When I went to the Hamoden County Registry of Deeds and looked up his residence, it showed that he already had 2 liens from A. Boilier and Sons... About 40,000.00 each. He also had 5 liens from the State attached to his property. He also had another customer who was also in the process of small claims. The court took away his contractors license and supervisors license. So do not do any business dealings with this "company". . I went to court today, June 2016, to get another writ of execution( I missed placed mine).. Mr Fett showed up at court. He tried telling the magistrate that he did not have to pay me because he has supposedly disbanded his business a couple of years ago. Of course, the magistrate almost laughed him out of court telling him that the judgement had already been made, and that I was only there for a replacement. So, out of this "contractor's mouth he said that he no longer has this business. Keep this in mind if you ever contemplate asking him for a bid. DON'T!! You will end up in the same spot that I'm in.
Description of Work: Stay clear of this contractor. He stole about 5200.00 from me.. My deposit. He did nothing. Never started the work. Made excuses...eventually stopped responding to my calls .This started in 2010.

Overall I would say that my dealings with BSF Construction were extremely frustrating. I hired a general contractor so that I wouldn't have to deal with the small stuff. We hired him in June 2010. Being so frustrated, I never even realized that he didn't apply for a building permit until the end of August. Throughout the summer we added to the project and paid in full for the add-ons. He would demolish things, ask for a check, and then move onto something else without completing the first project. He painted walls and re-finished wood floors before the electric work and hvac work was done in rooms. Everything had to be re-done. I finally realized that it was his way of assuring that he got more money quickly. I had remarked that I was thinking of putting on a new deck or screened in porch. The next day, they demolished the old deck. I was only thinking of a new porch and if so, due to money, doing it the following Spring. Here again, he was able to get more money from me as an add-on. There would be no way to exit the kitchen unless I allowed him to re-build it. The porch is unfinshed to this day. Mr. Fett is a very smooth talker. He is very convincing when he speaks about what he is going to do for you. He collects your money and doesn't do the work. He doesn't return phone calls. He disappears. Financially, he ruined me. I was too trusting.,
Description of Work: BSF Construction was hired in June of 2010 to renovate a home we bought. Contracts were signed we had a verbal end date of the fall of 2010, which included any change orders. During that summer and September, I paid in full for the change orders along with scheduled payments per the contract. Less than half the work was finished before Mr. Fett stopped work at our home. ..even though we had paid up front. In October of 2010, my husband took sick and died within one week. Mr. Fett took advantage of me during that time and told me that he needed more money to continue the work. In fact, he asked several times through e-mail, phone and in person. I wrote him a check and no work was ever done again on my home, until the summer of 2011. When my daughter shared negative feedback she had gathered with him, he returned and laid some decking on a porch floor and disappeared again. After being homeless for 7 months because we had sold our home last fall, I was forced to take a sizeable loan to complete the interior of the house so that I could move in. I did so in April and have since found that I am going to have to re-do a small roof above the basement door that his company had reconstructed. His design was flawed and I am having water issues. He told me it was the gutters ... it is not the gutters. It's his roof design. The garage floor and new front porch that he had poured are pitched improperly. Again, water propblems. The new porch roof in the front of the house is crooked. His workmen also did damage to many areas within my home, all of which I had to pay to repair or simply re-do.

The project took almost two years to be completed. Our friends thought we were nuts to put up with Harry Fett's constant delays but we liked what we saw and were willing to wait. Upon completion, Mr. Fett had many people contact us so he could have them see what he had done for us and we happily did so. Only later did we discover that the reason for the delays was because Harry wasn't paying his subcontractors and was having to find new ones.
Description of Work: We did a major home expansion. we totally rebuilt our existing kitchen and added a three story (16' x 34') addition. The addition included a basement office and storage room; a new dining room/kitchen area, a walk-in closet and separate laundry room. Our upstairs bathroom/dressing room was converted to a bathroom/toilet rooms. Our first floor half bath was moved to make the kitchen design more user friendly. The first floor laundry was moved upstairs as previously mentioned and the screen porch was converted to a four season room with sliding windows. The good news: everything 'looked' beautiful. The bad news: We had put up with the delays and unfulfilled promises but this last winter we had the straw that broke the camel's back. We have had to pay for $9000 for damages caused by BSF's roofer and HVAC workers. The roofer who repaired our damaged roof informed us that the roof had not been built to code. We discovered that the roofer who did the work is reportedly in jail; the BSF contractor's, Harry Fett, insurance company declined our damage claim and Harry Fett will not return calls.
