An unfortunate experience. The initial phone call was fine, but the surveyor showed up, took measurements, and drove off without any explanation of what to expect in terms of timelines or process. Weeks went by—I assumed FEMA must be slow to work with for processing the LOMA letter, and when I called 3 months after the surveying appointment, was told everything was okay and all we’re waiting on is the confirmation letter, due in 2 to 4 weeks. That was about 5 months ago. Voice mails and emails go unanswered. The silver lining is that the invoice wasn’t going to be sent until the end, so while I wasn’t ripped off financially, I was robbed of a lot of time and good faith that there would be follow through.
