We opted to have our windows replaced (someone had removed the beautiful old wood windows and replaced them with horrid, cheap, aluminum windows). Millwork Custom had some experience working in this neighborhood and therefore understood the challenges. The windows took longer to install than promised and it was unclear if the guys installing the windows actually worked for Millwork Custom or not. There was some mention of the regular installer not being available.
In no particular order:
1) the windows don't fit well - if fact you can't shut two of them properly.
2) Weather stripping is missing in numerous places leading to drafts and excess noise.
3) Bare wood has been left exposed in many places, no primer, paint or anything.
4) Window sills were not primed before painting. Paint has totally disappeared from these window sills within 18 months of the windows being installed.
5) Lew is impossible to get hold of. He rarely responds to emails or calls and it has now been over 18 months that we have been chasing him to take care of these issues.
6) in December 2012, the last time that Lew showed any interest in trying to get these issues taken care of, we arranged a time for someone to come over and take care of everything. That person never showed up. Since that time, we have tried off and on to get Lew to respond but with no luck.
We paid extra to have the windows made of FSC certified African mahogany. Lew claimed he had the paperwork but we obviously never saw it.

Windows were well made, and produced in only a few weeks.
