Amerigas started out being friendly via the phone but ended up being a bunch of thieves. My husband was given a propane tank prior to our involvement and when I moved in and had children we decided to do the delivery system instead of having to haul it out and undo and redo it however often. We had an astronomical bill the first year and then the second it wasn't so bad. Until I recieved a bill fro a rental fee. I ignored the bill thinking it was an over sight because the woman on the phone was going to waive the fee for not ordering our amount in the 12 months. Well that was the first lie, the charge was still there. Then I called left a message and never recieved a call back. got the second bill and at this time we needed a refill so I wanted to dispute the bill. They refused to refill while the bill was under dispute so we had brought it out ourselves and filled it. Come march 25th 2014 our propane is out. We don't think anything of it because I did not know my husband refilled the tank. So I didn't say anything well I called Amerigas to dispute the claim and put a order in. I said we own our own tank and that I've never had to pay a rental fee prior so I was not paying for my own tank. She explained I had paid a fee the year before in the huge bill. Which when looking at the bill was listed under other (so i wouldnt know it was a rental fee) I argued that if they look in their records there was no installation. No tank was installed and the tank was inspected and passed our first fill up. She then got defensive and rude. So I had to call the police and file a complaint against the company because no one took me seriously. The worst part is my three year old and my unborn child are the ones to suffer since this has all happened because we are limited on our meals since we have no way to cook them!
